    2. I am trying to assemble information on the Glen Lock Dairies and the two brothers who (I think) founded the dairy: Charles S. Haughawout and J. Pierce Haughawout. I believe J. Pierce died in 1944 , Charles survived him, but I don't know when he died. I am guessing the dairy began in the teens or twenties, but I am still at the early stages of my research. Any information on the dairy or the Haughawouts would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

    3. Hello Patt, The township name is correctly spelled "Mahoning." It was established in Northumberland Co. in 1786 (some authorities say 1775). In 1850, when Montour Co. was taken off of Northumberland Co., Mahoning Twp. fell into Montour Co. If you have thoroughly checked Northumberland Co. records to no avail, you might do well to look in Montour Co. records for the descendants you seek. Mahoning Twp. encircles Danville on the south central border of Montour Co. Nelson R. No wife was mentioned, but her given name was Mary, [mentioned in Isaac father's Will, Little Britain Twp., Lancaster Co.] His brother, James, was one of the executors and he died circa 1795, Northumberland Co. Isaac and James were sons of Michael and Margaret (McGummery/Montgomery) ROBISON of Little Britain Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. 3. Wayne, I married into the Deemer family and I do have some Deemer research that the family had already worked on. However, I only seem to have information currently for those in Western PA. The furthest ancestor back we have listed is Adam Deemer b abt 1834 in Bavaria, Bermany m. Margaret "Mary" Deemer whom he met in Coulter, Allegheny County, PA. It appears that Coulter is now called South Versailles. Adam supposedly came to American from Hamburg, Germany between 1861 and 1863. He was a miner. If we have any connection please let me know. If you would like I do have additional information. 3. Hello Roger, You and I have exchanged Klinger data in the past. I have you noted as source for the 1638 marriage date of my 8th gg-grandfather, Georg Klinger, married in Pfaffen-Beerfurth, Odenwald, Germany. I would like to know the nature of the mystery you are working on now. I have a distant cousin living in Texas who has traced our common Klinger ancestry back to a marriage in Rielingshausen, Württemburg, Germany, in about 1544. If I am no help in resolving your mystery, I would like to see if perhaps my Texas cousin will be able to help you. Best regards, Nelson R. 2. I purchased some photo postcards on Ebay of the classes held in Eureka School, West Cameron about 1917. I believe they came from the Marvin Long Estate. I would love to identify the students and get more information about the school. I lived in a house in West Cameron at one time that was at one time an old one room school house so it's possible it was the Eureka School. I also purchased a photo of the West Cameron Band. Is anybody researching families from West Cameron about this time frame? Does anyone know if Judge Derrick might know something about the school or band?

This must be what you are looking for: Section 8, Row #19 - All these grouped together: DAVIS, Hopkin, b. South Wales, Mar. 25, 1823, d. Nov. 9, 1895 -72.7.15 Ann C., b. South Wales, June 7, 1830, d. I don't know if these cemetery books are still for sale - they were compiled by "Schuylkill Roots" and published about 1989. "Schuylkill Roots" probably has a webpage - they used to print a catalog. 1. St. Michael's RC Cemetery Sunbury
    2. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there is a cemetery at the following location? In doing research related to something else, I discovered that in 1895 Henry Arnold and his wife Margeret of Upper Augusta Township sold a tract of 1 acre 152 perches to Bishop McGovern, in trust for the Roamn Catholic Congregation of St. Michael's in Sunbury. The deed mentions a right of way to be used to access the property for funerals, so it's pretty clear this was intended as a cemetery parcel. The property adjoined the 1 1/2A parcel of the Sunbury Poor House, south of Sunbury. In 1913, Bishop Shanahan sold the parcel to Charles B. Zerbe, and in 1917 he and his wife Valeria sold it to John A. Lahr of Upper Augusta Township, who at the time owned the farm which surrounded the parcel on three sides (the Poor House adjoined the parcel on the east side) So the Church owned this tract from 1895 until 1913. Does anyone know if the Church actually used this as a cemetery? I have not tried to access the property to look for tombstones. So far as I know, there's no sign near Rt 147 indicating that there is a cemetery near the former Poor House site. If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.
