    1. [PANORTHU] Congregations in Northumberland County in 1763
    2. Aaron Hill
    3. In my search for the birthplace and parents of James HILL, who was born June 22, 1763 in Pennsylvania, I received a response from someone at the Evangelical & Reformed Historical Society, part of Lancaster Seminary (http://www.lancasterseminary.edu). I am searching for records from the following churches: Lower Mahanoy Twp. (Hickory Corners) - Zion's (Stone Valley) Reformed Church 1740-1946 Ralpho Twp. - St. Jacob's (Reed's) Union Church 1793-1907 Rebuck R.D. Washington Twp. - Himmel's (Scwaben Creek) Union Church 1774-1846 She explained that "Union Churches were formed when a Reformed congregation and a Lutheran congregation decided to share the same building and/or pastor (usually due to the remote location and the small number of congregants)." Does anyone know of any Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Northumberland County in 1763 and into the 1790s? — Aaron _________________________________________________________________ Microsoft brings you a new way to search the web. 2. The Northumberland County Historical Society has transcripts of the Stone Valley and Himmels records (the latter have also been published in book form by the Society), but I'm not sure about St. Jacobs.  I'm also doubtful the Stone Valley records go back to 1740; Himmel's was the first permanent congregation established in the county in 1774, and the earliest records I've seen for Stone Valley date back to 1777. 3.   Hi Tonya I only have the 1860 to 1920 census to search a correction its Clara G MILLER April 10 1910 7th ward Sunbury Charles H MILLER 30 worked for rail road Mara G MILLER 32 Carrie M MILLER age 10 adopted daughter I found some thing interesting first the ages of Clara Gs family are off quite a bit from year to year but in 192O Charles and Clara Miller have Catherine MARTZ mother in-law with them tracing her back wards 1900 Clara G Martz with Catherine MARTZ 1880 Vandine MARTZ with wife Catherine youngest daughter Alice MARTZ age 2 1900 Alice MARTZ  age is a boarder in Sunbury but whats interesting its list her as a widow and list her as having one child there is no mark for a child living or dead most often the mark would be 0 or 1 meaning child died or is living all the other familys on page have this mark filled in hers is empty but we know she gave birth to a child I think this is a possible match for Carrie M mother M in Carries name probably stands for MARTZ. Were she is yet in 1900 I have no idea? 1. [PANORTHU] Ioline CROWL
    2. Hello Listers. I am new to the Northumberland County list and hope that someone can help me find some information on my wife's aunt, Ioline CROWL. Ioline was born 16 Sept. 1907 and, according to the SSDI, died in Elysburg, PA on 8 August 1997. I am not even sure when Paul CROWL and Ioline were married. I do know that it was the second marriage for both (maybe the third for Ioline). Ioline had been married to George R. WALBURN and they were living in Coal Township, PA at the time of the 1930 Federal Census. George (b. 1897) and Ioline (b. 1907) are enumerated with two sons, Thortan D. (b. 1920), and Bertan R. (b. 1924), as well as George's father, Samuel (b. 1861). In the 1920 Federal Census, however, George R. (age 22) is married to a Susan M. (age 21) and they have a newborn son, Thorton D. (age 2/12 ... slightly different spelling than in 1930, but the same boy I'm sure). Paul and Ioline CROWL retired to New Port Richey, Florida in the late 1970's and Paul died there in 1988. Ioline returned to Elysburg, PA (her son Burton was living there according to Paul Crowl's obituary) and died in Elysburg in 1997 according to the SSDI. That's all I know about her ... I don't even know her maiden name. I was hoping that someone could help me locate her obituary or tell me how to obtain her death certificate or help me find any other information on her. Any and all help wll be greatly appreciated. Bob
