In the book, The Earliest Rhodes of Bedford, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Somerset Counties of Pennsylvania, The author, Marie Leighty Engel, states that Michael Rhodes (name evolved from Michael Rote) was originally in Northumberland County. Sold his property in 1809 and died about 1812 in Huntingdon Co. There are these two listings:Associators: -4th Batt. 1st Co. 26 Sept. 1776, Pvt. Michael RoteMuster Rolls - 1784 - John Lowdon's Co. - Pvt. Michael Rote I would like to view those two listings. Can anyone direct me to these sources? She was a witness to the naturalization paperwork of Rose Krall, who was born in Novo Mesto, Jugoslavia in 1880 and was married to a Frank Krall. This Mary Krall was working as a potter in Canonsburg, PA (Pittsburgh area). She was born May 18, 1908 in Canonsburg. Her mother came to America in 1905 and was married July 29, 1907. This doesn't look like your family, though. No son named John. The other children were Rose, Anna, Frank, Victoria and Joe. I was in touch with the prothonaotary office and library last year. The paperwork I got was my grandfathers immigration paper. My Uncle's birth certificate and another Uncle baptismal paper. But if all the children were born there and I am sure my grandmother was naturalized there they should have that also right??
