Shelley Cardiel" <[email protected] I've "rescued" an old photograph of Louisa SNYDER which was taken at the S. L. Miller Studio in Lykens, Pennsylvania. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1870's or 1880's with Louisa likely in her 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate a possible match in census records as follows: 1880 census of Londonderry, PA: A. SNYDER, age 34, a Shoemaker, born PA, parents born PA Louisa SNYDER, wife, age 32, Keeping House, born PA, parents born PA Katie SNYDER, dau, age 11, Housework, born PA Clara SNYDER, dau, age 9, born PA Mary SNYDER, dau, age 5, born PA William SNYDER, son, age 3, born PA I am hoping to locate someone from this SNYDER Family, so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Verbal family history has it that my grandmother's family came from England and Jane Robson Dunn died from a fire (in the fire or after?). My grandmother and her siblings where raised and later adopted by her maternal grandmother. Until now, I had not been able to find any info on Harry Dunn. I have the newspaper clipping of wedding announcement for daughter Rebecca in 1849, stating it was at her father's house, Griffith J. Davis, of Valley Township, Columbia county. I believe they are descendants of Griffith John but cannot find all the documentation to fill in the gaps. Part of the confusion may be because of the county changes at that time......Northumberland....Columbia (by 1813).....Montour (by 1870). One of John's sisters was named Beatrice and a grandson named Elwood Lynch can be found in the Alex Forceski household in 1930. Beatrice is the only one old enough to have had a child five years old. A reference online pointed to an Alex Lynch as the husband, but he was already married to a Kathryn for 10 years that would have been born five years earlier than Beatrice. So she must have been married to some other Lynch. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Two people in particular that I am looking for are a John Forceski / Forcheski and his wife, Luella / Louella. However, others are welcome. Luella (Geistwite) Forceski was my grandmother's aunt. Both her and her husband died rather young. John may have been born in 1910 and died, as the story goes, in a "pocket" mine around 1940. Luella was also born about 1910 and is said to have died of possible stomach cancer around 1942. Oddly, she died in a house that would later become a homestead for my father's family. Luella's son, Eugene, born before the marriage and not connected to John Forceski, says she and John were buried up in Shamokin. I have been told that there may have been another son born after the marriage, possibly a John Jr., but he knew nothing about him. Eugene was raised by Luella's parents after her death. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
