    2. I am still trying to place Mary Ann Grotz b. ~1814 (m. John Gradwohl). While poking around (sorry, no systematic search involved) I found: 1877 History of Northampton County, by Davis (online through rootsweb & the usgenweb project): Grotz, John Pvt. Co.K, 38th Regiment of 1863 (Easton), militia in the Civil War. Grotz, H. Pvt. Captn. Shafer's Co., Regiment ?, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Division, in the war of 1812 (appears to have enlisted following President Adam's request of 1814). 1780 Easton Taxable Households list Grotz, Jacob Sr. farmer 143 lbs.
