The Bartholomew family represent themselves of Hugenot origin and descended from the celebrated Barthelemi family of France, and they came hither from England. John Bartholmew, the settler, died Oct 30, 1756 aged 71 years, and had 11 children; The sons were Joseph, Thomas, John, Andrew, Benjamin, Augustine and Edward. Annie married Thomas Walter, Elizabeth married Isaac Davis, Rachel, married Benjamin Davis and Mary, married ___Thomas. The widow, Mary Bartholomew, died about 1762. John Jr., died Jan 17, 1758, 39 years of age.
