Recently, while reading a genealogy of the Ackerman family of Northampton County, I came across this passage which refers to Mennonites in Lower Mt. Bethel. Does anyone know anymore about this congregation? (I will need to see what the reference to Wenger is on my next trip to the Marx room.) "On May 7, 1825, Harmon Godshalk and Jacob Ackerman again are mentioned as "Trustees of the Mennonist Congregation of the Twp. of Lower Mt. Bethel. (See Wenger - p. 235) "Jacob was probably operating the mill before his father's death. And to him fell the task of dividing his father's estate equitably among the six sons, acording to Mennonite custom." (From "The Ackerman Family Association, comprising the descendants of George Ackerman, Mennonite, of Lower Milford Township, Bucks County, Pa., and some of the descendats of Stephen Ackerman, Lutheran, of Haycock Township, Bucks County, Pa." compiled by Claire Ackerman Vliet, 1950, p. 112.) Be grateful for any information on this. Marilyn
