lehigh co. martin ritter, s/o henry, was born nov. 10, 1749, died nov. 2, 1827. he married jan. 11, 1774 to anna margaret steininger, who was born jan. 11, 752, died aug. 4, 1838. children; henry, 1779-1833, married lydia knappenberger, martin, 1781-1863 married anna margaret bogert, john, daniel married lydia knauss, jacob, michael married eloisa miller and margaret married solomon klein. joel ritter, born 1832 in salisbury twp. member of the lutheran ch. later a moravian. he married mary gerhring, d/o john of emaus. children, richard, maria wf of _ shaw, robert of macungie, rebecca married willliam steininger, milton d., of bucks co., morris of lebanon, john of coopersburg and henry a. jacob ritter, 5th son of martin sr., was reared in salisbury. he married anna bogert. children; martin, married rebecca marticks, sarah, w/o joseph weaver, nathan and jacob nathan ritter, 2nd son of jacob, was born in salisbury, july 4, 1832. he married hannah, d/o henry schantz. children; peter h., and alfred married elizabeth yoder. peter h., s/o nathan, was born in lower macungie, dec. 29, 1848. he married caroline d/o henry shankweiler. children; franklin married ella bloss, katie married harvey laudenslager, and had three children; minnie, w/o arthur hartzell, carrie, w/o joseph hallman and maria. and milton h.n. henry shankweiler, grandfather of milton h., n. ritter, was born in schuylkill co, and married matilda, d/o jacob bitting of lower macungie. they had 3 children; caroline, wf of peter h. ritter, walter married rosa schaeffer and morgan single.
