    3. henry hauser, resided at what is now called in stormsville, in cherry valley, and his brother ulrick at what was for many years known as the hauser farm, now the river farm, the home of mr. e.t. croasdale. henry and ulrick were the sons of henry hauser. they came from friedenshal near stockertown, and settled in smithfield in 1790. there was a henry hauser who joined a scouting party who it is said went in pursuit of indians scalps, in consideration of a bounty of 150 dollars for every male over age 10. the scouting party named numbered 30, and started from the hunter settlement at mt. bethel, northampton co. henry was killd near the lehigh. he was the father of ulrick and henry. the hauser farm in smithfield, was one of the landmarks of early times. ulrick hauser kept a tavern there for many years. he was succeeded by his john. the elections were held at his house, also the militia training, county balls, etc. Best Wishes, Geri
