    3. berks co. fetterman, balthasar-longswamp proved april 26, 1796 provides for wife catharina margaretha, including 80pds according to a legacy of her father george huft, "which came to me by a piece of land from said f-i-l." executor to sell all estate and the remainder to be dividd in equal shares among my 9 children by 2nd wife, and 1 by 1st wife. viz' john (1st wf) casimir, herman, catharine w/o samuel bachart, anna rosina, w/o henrich gerner, george, barbaa and salome, wf of henry martin. exrs. wf catharine margareth, and friend david strauss. fetterman, george-maxatawny, proved sept 24, 1801. provides for wife catharine. estate to be sold. mentions 2 plantations) and divides into equal shares among children; dau. magdalena, son nicholas kiefer 50pds when 21, to her son john billig 50pds when 21. mentioons son john and daus. elizabeth and magdalen but there were probably others sons. exrs. son john and wife catharine wits; george hauer and william cerchner fetherman, catharine margaret, widow of blthaser. proved july 16, 1807. to children of george fetherman deceased 5pds to be divided. to granddaughter margaret mosteller my bed when 16. to 3 daus, anna barbara w/o frederick kerkner, anna susann mosteller, widow of henry, and mary salome wf of peter martin and son phiop, all remaining estate. exrs. son philip. wits; george boone and john hoover Best Wishes, Geri -----Original Message----- From: geri brennan Sent: Monday, July 28, 2008 1:25 PM To: palehigh@rootsweb.com, panortha@rootsweb.com, felker@rootsweb.com, pamonroe@rootweb.com Subject: Re: [PANORTHA] [PALEHIGH] [FELKER] Felker/Fetherman/Slutter Pa monroe co. hist. starner, william h. of pocono twp. civil war vet. his paternal grandfather was a native of germany, came to america when a young man, and located in hamilton twp., where he married and reared a family of 7 children. joseph starner, father of william h., was born in hamilton twp., and married mary van horn, d/o john, who was also of german ancestry and came to america just before the rev. mr. and mrs. starner had children; william h., subject, jane died age 28, married john borom, of cresco, stewart, lived in stroudsburg and died 1894, catharine, wf of john decker, joseph of coolbaugh, ellen married john van horn and lived to tobyhanna, mary, wf of osman beers of scranton, freeman was killed age 21, on the railroad and lucinda, wf of james crooks, of gouldsboro. mr. starner died aug 19, 1875, age 77. william h. was born in hamilton twp. at tobyhanna mill, july 26, 1866 he married elizabeth schufter, who was born march 30, 1849, d/o christian and lena (bowers) schufter, natives of germany, and they lived in pocono twp. mr. and mrs. starner had children, mary elisabeth, 1868, wf of charles eilber, of tannersville and have a dau. george f. 1871, john d., born at tannersville, 1874 married emma smith, and he was killed nov. 24, 1899, jennie 1877 wf of ed. diehl, julia, 1880 wf of john h. widdows, charles w., 1882, joseph, 1885, frank, 1888 and b. harrison, 1893. shafer, peter w., of hamilton twp. civil war vet. was born in hamilton twp. june 10, 1843, s/o jacob and christina (saylor) shafer. at stroudsburg he married june, 1863 to lizzie featherman. mrs. shafer was born on the old featherman homestead in hamilton twp., d/o charles and sally ann (pifer) featherman. mrs. shafer's grandfather was balser featherman, born in lehigh co., s/o john p. and sarah (danahower) featherman. balser featherman, married margaret houser, who was born in northampton co, d/o caper houser, and both died in hamilton twp., the former in 1867, age 81, the latter in 1852, age 69. and were laid to rest in mt. zion. mrs. featherman was drowned in a mill race in front of her home, walking in her sleep. balser featherman and wf had children, john married ann storm, sally wf of amos la bar, philip went to new orleans, worked on a steamboat and was never heard from, elisabeth married samuel pifer, charles and abram, twins, the former being mrs. shafer, and the later died unmarried in chili, s.a,, lydia, widow of charles butts of lime spring, iowa, johanthan, married sally butts, and jacob h. of hamilton twp.
