lehigh co. hammel family johaness hammel of germany, emigrated to pa. in 1746, locating in what is now south whitehall, near crackersort, lehigh co. philip hammel, was born in germany before emmigration of his parents and he was redemptioner. he married a steininger, d/o leonhard steininger a pioneer of south whitehall. they had paul and joseph and also 5 or 6 daughters. joseph hammel, s/o philip. he was a member of jordan reformed ch. he married sallie guth, d/o peter. children; james, hannah, w/o edward frankenfield, polly, w/o william measemer, owen, phaon, and sarah w/o john albright. andrew kline was born in weisenberg twpl 1805. he married leah werley, d/o nicholas werely. children; mary, w/o jonas kressley, john, fianna, peter, sarah and polly, the latter married william kistler, daniel w., and jacob of fleetweed. daniel w. of kutztown, was born may 9, 1843, he married maria steininger and they had 2 children, minnie, w/o william sander and annie, w/o arthur malone. theobald kuntz or dewald kuntz, emigrated to america, 1749. he and his wf. anna maria had 5 sons, john theobald born 1753, philip jacob, 1755, george fredrick, 1759, john philip, 1762, john henry, 1766 john theobald kuntz, s/o theobald married margaret steininger and had children; theobald, 1777, elizabeth, 1782, , maria and catharine, 1791 philip jacob kuntz aka jacob, was born dec 6, 1755, died dec 27, 1831. he married elisabeth steininger, who was born march 8, 1761, died jan 9, 1842, she was the d/o leonard steininger and elizabeth. jacob kuntz later spelled kuhns. children; philip, daniel, theobald, catharine, henry, george, sarah, lydia w/o jonathan heilman, maria and eliisabeth, wf of henry doering. john philip kuntz, 4th son of theobald, married catharine steininger and had children; henry, 1787, died 14 1846, married rebecca grammes, elizabeth, 1789, daniel, 1791 and catharine, 1800.
