David Learn was born in Pocono township, Nov 26, 1840. He married Anna Miller who was bor Dec 25, 1842 and they had children; Addison (subject), Hattie the wife of Elmer Warner, of Pocono, Katie the wife of George Mader of Ponoco township, Franklin married Nettie Edinger and lived at Fortyfort, Keturah and Alfred. Manasseh Miller, the maternal grandfather of our subject, was born in Hamilton township, April 25 1812, and died April 23, 1898. In Pocono township, he married Harriette Burrett, d/o Gideon Burrett, She was a native of Monroe County. Children; Mary, Anna, mother of subject, Gideon died age 19, Maurice of Tannersville, Simon, married Mary Anglemoyer, d/o Adam, David, Emma, married Al. Green of Northampton Co., Marietta, marriedD. W. Bowman, Alice, W.S. of Tannersvill, Ella wife of Wilson Loux of Allentown. Addison Learn was born in Pocono townhip Aprl 8, 1866, he married at Tannersville, July 26, 1890 (German Reformed Church) to Mary Waas, native of Pocono township and they had 2 children, Lillian A., born 1894, and George A., born 1898 Learn, Henry, sheriff of Monroe Co. French origin. His great-grandfather, Jacob Learn, a farmer in Hamilton township. Peter Learn, subject's grandfather, of Pocono township, married Margaret Starner, she died at age 73, he died 1880, six months before his 90th birthday. Margaret Starner was probably from Allentown. Children; four lived to maturty, Amos, Sallie married David Edinger, and they lived in Bedford Co., Jacob and Morris of Iowa. Jacob Learn, was born Jan 22, 1824 in Pocono township. He marred Mary A. "Werkheiser". Children; Peter of Bradford Co., Catharine married Charles Singer, Henry (subject) Margaret A., wife of George Butz. Subject's mother was born April 15, 1824 in Hamilton township, a daughter of Henry Werkeiser and his wife Catharine (Arnold) and had the following, Mary A., John, Betsy, Hannah, Herry and Abraham. Sheriff Learn was born April 27, 1849. He married in the spring of 1869 to Ella Walters, who died in 1884, and on Nov 26, 1895 he married Mrs. Anna Shook, nee Brown. Of the two children of his first marriage, Herbert W. marrid Cora Singer and had two children; Walter and Mary and John A., who is not married and lived with his grandfather, Jacob Learn. By his 2nd marriage he had one daughter, Hannah. Learn, Joseph, subject, of Paradise township, was born Sept 1840. His parents were John and Susanna ("Workheiser") Learn, were born and reared in Hamilton township. She died 1879, he died 1881. Children; 1. Elizabeth, the wife of William Coffman, 2. Chrstina, wife of Tobias Setzer, 3/ Lydia married Jacob Warner, of Pocono township and they lived in Paradise township, 4. Katie wife of Samuel Bowman and they lived in Iowa, 5. Hannah married Charles Anglemeyer. 6. Jacob married Mary A. Woodling, where she died 1898 leaving children (John, Annie, and Alvin. 7. Julia, the wife of William C. Heller. 8 Mary the wife of James Burskirk of Hamilton township, they bought a farm in Lackawanna Co. On the homestead in Paradise township, Joseph W. Learn, he married in 1861 to Mary E. Heller, d/o James and Rachel (Keller) Heller, She was born in 1844. Children; 1. Willaim J. born Feb 1862, married Sarah Bowman. 2. Franklin J. married Annie Schook and they had (Flornce and Clare) 3. Milton born July 1869, married Nettie Bush and they had ( Dale H. and Arlet) 4.
