His wife, who bore the maiden name of Eva Metzgar, was born Nov 14, 1752 and died Feb 10, 1830 Dauphin Co Brandt, Abraham L., Deodate, PA., was born in Conewago township, Dauphin Co., May6, 1836. Michael, the grandfather, John the father was born in Conewago in 1801 where married Annie Long. Brandt, Levi, was born near Churchtown, in Cumberland Co., May 20, 1829. He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Coover) Brandt, both natives of Cumberland Co. His paternal grandfather was Adam Brandt, born 1751 and died 1838, who married Eva Metzgar, born 1752 and died 1838. His mother was Elizabeth Coover, was the granddaugther of George Coover 1740-1820, who descends from a German family named Kobar (afterwards changed to Coover, of Colburg, Germany). Levi Brandt married Nov 8, 1866 to Elmira A. daughter of Daniel and Cristina (Memper) Bailey. Her grandfather was John Bailey 1769-1832 and her great-grandfather was Daniel Bailey, a native of Monaghan county, Province of Ulster, Ireland who came to America and settled in York, PA Marriages recorded att Phila. His parents were Christian and Fannie (Zeamer) Brandt. Brandt, David H, was born in Mt. Joy Jan 5, 1827, son of John H. and Katie (Hosler) Brandt of East Donegal and Mt. Joy respectively. The father died in 1853 age 54. The mother died in 1863 age 75 The Brandt family is of German origin, great-great-grandfather, Samuel Brandt, the first of the name to immigrate to America, a native of the Palatinte. Came of the ship "Samuel", 1732. He settled in Rapho township, he also owned land in Londenderry township, in Dauphin Co, then Lancaster Co. His children; Michael, Christian, John, Yost, Anna, Maria, Elizabeth, Esther, and Jacob Brandt, John, was born in Manheim township, Sept 9, 1813 and died in 1870. Members of the River Brethren. The Brandt family is of Swiss extraction. Berks Co Irvin S. Brandt, of Reading, was born at Sanatago, Montgomery Co., Dec 9, 1896, son of Washington R. and Sarah (Stettler) Brandt. As far is known the family is of German descent. The grandfather was Samuel M. Brandt of Montgomery Co. His children, Elizabeth wife of Henry Boos, Susannah married Henry Linderman, Mary married Isaac Truckmiller, Hannah married __ Truckmiller, second wife, Joseph, Nathan, Frederick, Samuel Jr and Washington R.
