Montgomery County History Isett, John U., subject-The founders of the Isett family, of which John U., of Royserford, is representative, were Frederick and Jacob, who with their widowed mother, sailed from Rotterdam in 1732 with a little colony, including their pastor, a Lutheran clergyman. Soon after landing the mother bought a farm for her son Jacob. She also bought a farm for her son Frederick, near Trappe, PA, adjoining the farm of the parents of Gov. Shunk. The Frederick Isett 1. Frederick2 was born in Montgomery Co, he marrid Mary Hallman and they were the parents of 5 sons, the second son Frederick3 was born July 26, 1812, died Nov 11 1899. He married Feb 4, 1841 to Henrietta Shade, d.o Jacob and Mary (Shunk), her mother a cousin of Francis R. Shunk. Children Mary married John Y. Eisenburg, Lavina, died age 24, Jacob married Anna B. Amole, Charlotte married William Y. Eisenburg, Frederick of Phila., John U. and Henrietta married John M. Mauger. Members of the Brethern Church. John U., married Nov 24, 1881, to Ida Winter, d/o Reuben and Elizabeth (Schwenk) Winter, her father the last survivor of the founders of Royersford. Reuben Winter was born in Trapp, Oct 30 1823, died April 29, 1918. He was the son of John and Deborah (Rayser) Winter, and the grandson of John Winter, of ancient Berks county family, who served in the Rev., and in 1793 was keeping a hotel in Phila, on Water St. He died in Upper Providence in 1836, aged over 80 years and was buried in the graveyard adjoining the Trapp Lutheran Church. His son John Winter cane Montgomery Co., with his parent in 1812. John Winter married 1st to Catharine Moyer and 2nd to Deborah Raysor. Reuben Winter, married in 1848 to Elizabeth Schwenk, born Oct 23, 1825, died Feb 16, 1896, d/o Daniel and Mary (Stetler) Schwenk, and granddaughter of Daniel Schwenk. Children; Mary J., married Reuben Swartley, Ida married John U. Isett, Reuben2, and Elizabeth married Burdett Geisinger.
