Rev.George Weiss, the first mintser of the Schewnkfelder demonination in America, was a son of Casper Weiss, and was born in Harperdorf, Lower Silesia, Austria, in 1687. He married in 1715 to Anna Meschter, of Langenneudorf. He came to PA in Sept 1734 (ship "St Andrew) settled on a farm in Skippack Creek, in LowerSaliford. He died March 11, 1740 in his 53rd year. He was interred in the graveyard of the Lower Salford Meeting House where he was pastor. His charges, extended from Germantown, through Gwynedd, Towmencin, Lower Salford, Upper Hanover, Hereford, Upper Milford to Macungie in Lehigh county with spurs at Falckner Swamp and at Worcester.
