War-Dennis, PA only Daniel, PA Line, soldier's sister Elizabeth Griffith rec'd BLW on the 23 Oct 1830 at Baltimore, MD Jacob, PA Line, soldier enlisted in Springfield Township, Bucks Co, applied 1819 in Baltimore, MD James, PA Line, applied in Ohio, aged 77 on 27 Aug 1838, soldier was born in Ireland, soldier lived in Lancaster Co at enlistment. 7 or 8 years after the war and was married there. He moved to Cumberland Co., PA for 12 years and then moved to Allegheny Co., PA and in 1832 he moved Columbia Ohio Philip, PA Line, soldier married Susanna Norton on 1 Dec 1793 at Baltimore, MD, widow applied 1838 age 81. Soldier and wife had 4 children 2 of which died when only a few days old and the 2 surviving were John Jr., and Margaret Dennis. Soldier left home about 1820 and she never saw him again. The daughter Margaret was deceased in 1838 leaving one daughter, Ellen Davis whose father was also deceased. Soldier's granddaughter Ellen Cross wife of Edward Cross applied in 1850 Recorded at Phila. He is supposed to have been the son of John and Rachel (Hull) Dennis, of Woodbridge, NJ., born there 3m 8,1697 The Dennis family of NJ are principally descendants of Robert Dennis, an early settler of Portsmouth, RI, who according to CT records was born at Portsmouth in 1645.
