Peter Cole, of Wayne Co., PA, a native of NJ, was born 1844 in Sussex Co. NJ. The first of his line to come to this country, having been his great-grandfather, William Cole, who was a native of Holland. His son, William H. was born and reared in Sussex Co., NJ., and he married Catharine Brink. John W. Cole, father of Peter, was born 1822 in Sussex Co. He married Charity Coykendall. Cole, Moses, born 1821 in Sussex Co., NJ, he married Elizabeth Holbert, born in Pike Co.PA Cole, James H., of Bushkill, Pike County, a native of Sussex Co., NJ, and he was born July 15, 1822, s/o Steven and Cathaine (Davenport) Cole. His grandfather, Wilhelmis Cole, was born in MA and he moved to Sussex Co. NJ Wood, Aaron, was born in Pike township, Bradford Co., April 5, 1824, s/o Aaron and Cornelia (Carpenter) Wood. On Nov 7, 1870 in LeRaysville, he married Elizabeth Cole. Mrs Wood was born in Essex Co. NJ, March 14, 1831, d/o Nicholas H. and Margaret (Buss) DePue. Mrs. Wood married 2nd to Andrew Cole, who died in Leham township, Pike Co. The only child born of that marriage was Mary, wife of A. E. Johnson. Mr. Cole was twice married by his first wife, Mary Courtright, he had children; Samuel, Janson, Louisa, wife of Charles Engle of Dunmore, Lackawanna, and Martha, the wife of John Hoffman.
