John Sr., was a farmer and a member of the Jordan Lutheran Church at Allentown. John Roth died in the year 1802, upward of 70. He was twice married. His first wife named Sophia Dorothea, and his second wie who survived him, Mary Eva. Roth, Daniel emigrated from Switzerland and landed in Phila in 1740, then 15 years of age. He came to this section with the early settlers and located on the Jordan Creek. While yet in his minority he obtained a warrant in right of Peter Troxell. He died Feb 22, 1817, aged 93. He had 9 children, 6 sons, Jacob, Peter, John, Henry, Daniel, Abraham, and 3 daughters, Marie Eve, Barbara and Catharine. Jacob married a dau. of Michael Culp and purchased, March 10, 1813, the Culp tract, where he settled. He had 7 children, Daniel, Peter, Jacob, John, Jeremiah, Catharine and Maria. Daniel settled in the township. Peter son of Jacob. John, son of Jacob, he had one daughter Adaline, wife of Charles Henniger. Jacob, son of Jacob married Annie Schreiber, d/o Jacob. Catharine, d/o Jacob Roth, married Jonathan Marcks, settled in S. Whitehall township. Maria, became the wife of Solomon Kemer. Peter, son of Jacob, settled in S. Whitehall township, was a soldier in the War of 1812. Among his sons were John, died leaving 3 children, Paul, Polly married Jonathan Semmel, Mary, married Abraham Worman. Daniel, son of Daniel was a soldier in the Rev.killed at the battle of Germantown. John, Henry and Abraham, sons of Daniel. Maria Eve, d/o of Daniel, married Christoper Freyman.
