Cooper-Northampton John Cooper, real eastate agent of JP of Pineville, was born in Phila. Co., at Holmesberg, July 1, 1823, being the son of Jacob Cooper and Anne Johnson, the former at native of Bucks Co., and the latter of Phila., Co. The Cooper family emigrated from Scotland at an early day and settled in the lower end of Bucks. The grandfather, John Cooper was a farmer and resided in Northampton Co. Jacob Cooper his son located in Phila. Co, moved back to Bucks and then settled in Northampton County. He died in his 81st year. John Cooper was rearded in Phila. County until the age of 9, when he came to Northampton township with his parents and remained till age 26 when he married and settled in Wrightstown township in 1849. He married in 1848 to Mary Doan, a d/o Benjamin and Sarah Doan of Upper Makefiel township. They had but one child living, Stephen K., who married Nellie T. d/o C.B. and Sallie Twining. Buried at Northampton-Easton cemetery Cooper, John, (Dr.) died Feb. 2, 1851 aged 87y, Mary his wife, died 19 Nov 1854, aged 82. Children; John, Charlotte married Rev. John Vandeveer, Elizabeth married Theodore S. Paul, Sarah Ann married Joseph F. Randolph Haldeman, Wilson, of Chalfont, was born in this county in 1845. About the year 1700, the original Haldemans came to America from Germany in the persons of 2 brothers, one of whom never married. It is believed that the Haldemans in the United States are all descended from the other brother. John R. Haldemen, the father of Wilson, married Mary, d/o Henry Hohlbain of this county, and had 2 children, only one, Wilson is still living (1887), he (Wilson) married in 1873 to Emma, d/o Charles and Elizabeth Eckert,, and they had 3 children; Florence, Emerson and Orris, twin to Emerson. Member of the Doylestown lodge Fries, Samuel S. (Dr.) of Doylestown, was born in Chester County, March 9, 1828, the son of John and Christina (Wise) Fries, both of Bucks County. His parents moved to Chester County in 1800, the father died in 1861. He had 9 children, 4 still living in 1887; George, Samuel S., Maria and Sophia Dr. Fries moved to Milford, DE, he came to Doylestown in 1871. He was married 3 times, 1st to Martha Richards and had a child, William. He married 2nd in 1866 to Jennie Hill, they had no children. 3rd in 1871 to Lizzie Raike and they had, Laura M., and Bertie R.
