The Express Sat., Jan. 22, 1972 Raymond LAMBERT, 69 of 156 Washington St., Wind Gap, died last evening in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, where he was admitted Jan. 1. He had been ill for the past two years. Mr. LAMBERT was last employed by Easton Laundries for seven years, retiring in 1969. Born in Lower Nazareth Township, he was a son of the late Oscar and Lilly M. JOHNSON LAMBERT. Surviving are his widow, the former Irene J. GRIM; four sons, Walter R, WindGap; Darwin L., Bath R.D.2; Lester L, Stroudsburg R.D.5, and Richard, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Carl A. ROBERTS and Mrs. Paul SHOEMAKER, both of Wind Gap; Mrs. Barbara J. PARRY, Pen Argyl, and Mrs. Raymond LABAR, Saylorsburg; two brothers, Russell D., Nazareth and Stewart L, Nazareth R.D.3; seven sisters, Mrs. Alvin GOLD, Wind Gap R.D.1; Mrs. Ruth KELLER and Mrs. Earl RICE, both of Easton; Mrs. Ray REED, Washington, N.J.; Mrs. Harold GOGEL, and Mrs. Walter FOGLE, Nazareth R.D.2, and Mrs. James CARLO, Nazareth, and 17 grandchildren. Two sons, St! ewart and Raymond O. and a daughter Sandra, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Altemose Funeral Home Wind Gap. Interment will be Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield Township. William M. MACKES -- Services were held today for William M. MACKES, 47, of 2440 South St. Allentown, who died Thursday after collapsing in the 600 block of Walnut Street, Allentown. Mr. MACKES was a salesman for Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 21 years before retiring on 1969. (paper cut off here) George M. NIXON, 75, formerly of Stroudsburg, died yesterday in his home on Freeport, N.Y. Mr. NIXON was active with his brother, William NIXON of Pocono Farms, Tobyhanna, in fund raising counseling in the Stroudsburgs many years ago. (paper cut off here) Former Head of Nazareth Legion Post -- Leslie E. ABEL, 62, of 150 W. Prospect St., Nazareth, died yesterday shortly after admission to the General Hospital of Monroe County. Daniel WARNER, Monroe County Cororner, ruled that death was due to natural causes. Mr. ABEL was a cement tapper for 44 years at the Lone Star Cement Co., Nazareth, until his retirement in 1970. He was the husband of Emma R. SMITH ABEL. Born in Moore Township, he was a son of the late Eugene and Mary GLICK ABEL. Mr. ABEL was an army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a former commander of American Legion Post No. 415, Nazareth, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4366, Nazareth. Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Doris Capone, East Stroudsburg; two sons, Albert, Nazareth and Donald, Stroudsburg; six sisters, Mrs. Florence MABUS, Mrs. Jeanette WALTER and Mrs. Emma KAUFFMAN, all of Nazareth; Mrs. Walter PYSHER! , Bangor; Mrs. Roy SCHLEGEL, Allentown, and Mrs. Ellis SANTEE, Bethlehem; a brother Paul, Allentown and a twin brother Lesler, of Pen Argyl, and 10 grandchildren. Military services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Schmidt Mortuary, Nazareth. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth.
