From Briar Creek Union Cemetery, Columbia County his date of death is given as 07 May, 1837, age 79 years, two months, and 19 days. Based on this information, I calculate his birth date at about 18 Feb. 1758. Where did the birth date come from? This certainly bears investigation. It is possible that a name change from Muller to Miller occured at this stage. If so, how is this handled in a genealogical sense? The other birth information you supplied is not even close to the estimated 1757 date, so if Jacob was born in Northampton County, then this could be the correct person. It is also possible that he was a soldier in the Revolutionary War (1775 - 1783) as his age at the time would have made him a candidate. I am cautiously optimistic about this and anxiously await your reply. I am very grateful for your help.
