scholl, james h, of moore twp. was born july 28, 1844, s/o james and catharine (lawfer) scholl, also of moore twp. james h., married ellen e. meyers, d/o abram meyers, formerly of bushkill. scholl, j.p. (dr.) of bethlehem. at age 15 he made his home with his grandfather, peter scholl. scholl, henry (hon.) of bath, northampton co.was bor dec. 27, 1825, s/o griffith j., and catharine scholl. his father was born in allentown, pa., and his mother a native of northampton co. the scholls belong to an old family of the lehigh valley. the father was a physician and practiced in fogelsville and afterward at hecktown. hon. herny scholl was reared at lehigh co. he married lucy anewalt, native of northampton co., d/o peter anewalt, of lehigh twp. children; jane, mary, and margaret, wf of theodore campman, of bethlehem. shull, joseph h. born aug 17, 1848, s/o elias shull of northampton co. shull, john e. was born aug 5, 1846, in lower mt. bethel, northampton co, s/o elias and margaret shull shull, joseph h. (dr.) is a descendant in the 4th gen of elias shull of northampton co. the family is of german origin, but the exact time of their emigration is not known. philip, son of elias and grandfather of dr. shull resided at the dutch settlement in northampton. he married margaret bryant, of english descent, and had a family of children, of whom elias was the father of dr. shull. he wife was margaret eakin, they had 5 children;, of whom subject was 2nd. the others being john e., principal of the borough of stroudsburg schools., jennie, wf of peter ross, of bangor, philip of union co., samuel eakin, principal of the schools at s. easton, elias of cleveland, ohio. dr. shull was born at martian's creek, northampton co., aug. 17, 1848, he studied under his uncle, alexander s. shull. he married may 1, 1873 to mary v. flory, of bangor, children; claude, samul, and lucille shull. lehigh co. history scholl family balthazar scholl arrived at phila. in the ship lousia, 1752 with a brother john peter scholl. he settled in milford twp. about 1770 balthazar scholl moved to salisbury twp. his son david married elisabeth diefenderfer and had children, margaret, 1792, catharine, 1795, david, 1797 and jacob. david scholl, jr. married mary scholl and died in 1830;. his sons henry married adeline moyer and had children; augustus h., george p., john w., of wayne co. ohio, tillie married william rau and annie married john lynn. scholl, david probably the son of john pete moved to berks co. he married christina ehro. tradition has it he was born in the fatherland. in 1790c they had two sons, one of whom was above 16 and one dau. jacob, son of david was born in richmond twp., april 3, 1774 and he married anna maria adolph. they lived in fleetwood. members of the lutheran ch. among their children,george, william, charles, jacob and caroline. charles scholl, son of jacob, was born in fleetwood, may 12, 1811, died in allentown, oct. 15, 1881. in 1848 he moved to ohio but returned to allentown. he married harriet, d/o henry and catharine (kechner) knipe of lehigh co. mrs. scholl died oct. 1906 age 87.
