Messinger, Simon, of Washington township, Northampton county,was born in Warren County, NJ, July 21, 1833, being the son of George and Susanna (Simons) Messinger, natives of Northampton county. His father was during most of his life a resident of Lower Mt. Bethel township, but at the age of 60, he moved to Stephenson County, IL, Children; Peter of IL, Miles of Washington township, Zachariah, of Warren County, NJ, N.J., Theodore, of Iowa, Simon, and Lucinda, who marred Adam Young. Simon J., married in Dec. 1856 to Lovian Wilhem, was was born in Northampton county. Her parents, John and Susan (Gum) Wilhelm. Her parents were natives of Northampton Co., the former deceased, the latter, now 84 (1894). Grandfather Wilhelm resided in Mt. Bethel for many years, where he had moved from Nazareth. Mrs. Messinger was one of eight children, Jacob, Lovina, Henry, Sabilla, wife of Charles Rutt, Theobald. The union of Mr. and Mrs. Messinger has been blessed with 8 children; John, Isaiah, George, Flora, the wife of Gilmer Spangenberg, Susan, who married Herbert H. Slamp, William, Lucinda, who married William Spangenberg, and Herbert. Jones, Joseph E., of Bethlehem township was born in Northampton county, June3, 1826, s/o Joseph and Mary (Butz) Jones, natives of Northampton Co. Griffith Jones, the great-grandfather was a natives of Wales, and one of the first settlers of Bethlehem township. He came to county about 1750. Joseph E. Jones married in 1863 to Anna E. Messinger, two children were born to them, Isabella C. and Flora A. Best Wishes, Geri
