Lancaster County History Brandt Brandt, David, H., of E. Donegal township, Lancaster County, was born in Mt. Joy township, s/o John H.(son of John and Farrny), and Katie (Hosler) Brandt, of E.. Dongal and Mt. Joy townships, respectively. The father died in E.Dongal in 1853, at 54; the mother did in 1863,age75, they are buried in the cemetery at Maytown, members of the German Baptist Church. John H. and Katie had children; John H., died 1889, Michael H., David H., Fanny H., Joseph H.,. David H. Brandt was twice married. In 1853 he married Elizabeth Longenecker in Dauphin county, they had children; Simon L., who married Lizzie S. Eshleman, Alphus L., married Alice Shenk, John L., and Tillie. Mrs. Elizabeth (Longenecker) Brandt was born in Conewago, Dauphin county, and died Sept 6, 1865,age 37. Her remains were interred in Hoffer Church cemetery in Conewago township. John and Barbara (Hoffer) Longenecker, her parents, were native and residents of Dauphin county. The second marriage of David H. Brandt, was in Jan., 1868, when he married Mary P. Brenenman, of Mt. Joy. She was born in Millersville, Manor township, in July, 1824, d/o Benjamin and Anna (Peters) Breneman, both natives of Manor township. They died at Mt. Joy, to which point they removed in 1832. Her father died in 1872, aged 71; her mothers died Nov. 15, 1879, aged 78, both are buried at Kraybills Meeting House cemetery. They were the parents of the following children; Mary, Lizzie, who died young, George, Henry P., of Florin, Kate, who married Jacob Gish, they lived in Chester county, Aaron of Florin, Isaac, Fanny, the wife of George Hambright of Florin. Berks County History Hartline, George Jr., s/o George, was born in Earl township, Jan 11.1781,and died Feb. 19, 1865. He married Maria Dilleplane (properly spelled De la Plaine), d/o Frederick Dilleplane, of French extraction. Maria (Dilleplane) was born April 28, 1784 and died Aug 10, 1853. Children; Daniel, Solomon, Mary, who married Elijah Clouser, Harriet, married Enoch Boyer, Josiah married Ann Hoffman (1828-1899), Joel married Mary "Auche", Susanna married Isaac Smith, Elizabeth married Michael Brandt, Joshua D.,maried Elizabeth Clouser, Ezra married Catharine Focht. Berks County History Althouse, Wilson D., of Phila., was born in Maidencreek township, March 4, 1865, son of Nathan and Ellen Knabb (Zacharias) Althouse. It is possible to trace the Althouse records family to a remote period, the old records having been preserved. The great-great-grandfather of Wilson D., was John George Althouse, a farmer of Bern, Berks county, who married Maria Barbara Herbein, of Oley, by whom he had 4 children; Peter John George, Maria and Catharine. He died in 1811, aged 66y, and his widow died in1822. Peter Althouse, the great-grandfather, of Bern township, born in 1775, and died in 1839. He married Catharine Schaeffer, and they had the following children; Samuel married Mary Zacharias, Benjamin who married Mary Herbein, Peter who married Matilda Lorah, George, Danied and Susan, who married Christian Leinbach. Daniel Althouse, the father, of Bern township. He purchased a farm at Maidencreek, which he carried till his death in 1872, age 64. He married Anna Weidenhammer, d/o John of Richmond township, who lived to be 93. They had 5 children; Franklin W., Nathan, Ellem who married Joseph Schaeffer,Catharine who married Abramham Bieber, and Sarah, who married Daniel Gulden. Bucks county history Althouse, Samuel K., of Dublin, is great-grandson of Daniel Althouse, who came from Germany and lived in Bedminster, where he owned a large tract of land. He was killed accidentally killed while coming home from Phila. with his team. His son, Martin, was the grandfather of Samuel. He married Catharine "Sigafoos", both are buried at Tohickon church. They had a large family, many died young, and Martin, Levia and Tobias lived to maturity. Dauphin county history Althouse, Reuben H., a grocer, was born in Berks county, Feb. 3, 1845, s/o Benjamin and Rebecca (Herbine) Althouse, natives of Berks county. The father came to Dauphin county in the spring of 1845. He was a member of the Reformed church. He died April 16, 1861, and his wife in 1880. Children,Reuben H., Ella, unmarried, and George B., of Phila. In 1881 he moved to Bedford, Monroe county, Mich. He married in 1866 to Frances Rudy, d/o Joseph of Harrisburg, Children; Frank of Harrisburg, Carrie, Harry B., R. Edward, R.H., Frances who married George Swab, of Harrisburg, Joseph, Ella and Delanor. Members of the Reformed Church. Best Wishes, Geri
