Nicholas and Abraham Saegar Burials Allentown Saeger, nee Knauss.Maria Margaret, wife of John R. Sager. Born 1 Feb 1772 died 24 March 1842 Saeger, Jacob, born 29 Oct 1774, died 18 March, 1842, Margaret his wife born 19 Oct 1775, died 5 July 1846 Knauss, George Frederick, born 12 Oct 1748, died 11 Dec 1817, Maria Margaretta his wife, nee Saeger, born Nov 25, 1733, died 9 May 1814 Kresge, Freeman, s/o George W., and grandson of William. He was born April 16, 1847, on Oct 30,1870 Freeman married Elizabeth Saeger, and had 4 children; Emma C., wife of William Rolen Everett, of Weisport, Edwin, Harry and Sally F. Elizabeth (Saeger) was born Nov 22, 1846, in Northampton Co, d/o Daniel Saeger and granddaughter of John and Magdaline (Beartsch) Saeger of Northampton Co. Her father was born and raised there, her mother, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Hunsicker, was born in Lehigh Co, d/o Jonas and Christina (Stemler). In 1851, Daniel Saeger went to Monroe County, moved back to Northampton Co. in 1871. Elizabeth (Saeger) Kresge was the eldest of 4 children; Elizabeth, Joseph, of Bethlehem, married Vesta Angler, Emeline, who married Rudolph Serfass and Benjamin L. of CA Jacob and Daniel Saeger, sons of Nicholas of North Whitehall township, Daniel moved to Crawford County and founded Saegertown. Jacob died here in about 1860. He was the father of Charles, president of the Allentown National Bank; Abigail, the wife of Christian Pretz, Mary who married a Kern and two other daughters, Mrs. Henry Weinshimer, and Mrs. George Kern. Nicholas, a brother of Jacob and Daniel, also became a resident of Allentown, Joseph (of Pretz and Saeger Co.), John and Magdalena who became the wife of Joseph K. Saeger Saeger, Eli, son of Joseph K., of North Whitehall, came to Allentown in 1834. His father, son of Nicholas moved her in 1837. Joseph K., married Mary Magdalena Saeger, he died in 1855. His children, Salinda (Sieger, of Whitehall, Abigail, wife of Daniel Keck, of IL., Catherine (Sigman), Mary (Mohr) of Mucungie, Hirman, Leah Anna, wife of Rev. S.A. Tobias and Louisa. Saeger, Johann Nicholas, came from Reichenbach, Bavaria. He landed in Phila., Sept. 1733. His wife "Behesty", native of the same places and his 5 sons accompained him to the New World. Two of these named Christian Nicholas and John Nicholas, obtained possession of their father's land upon his death, and remained in Whitehall township, the rest of the boys moving to NY State. Nicholas, son of John Nicholas was born between 1760 and 1765, was the father of Joseph K Saeger, Esq., He died Nov 14, 1855 at the age of 63.
