Children; Valentine, William, Benneville, Samuel of Alsace, Maria married Jacob Bittner, Rose, married LLewllyn Schelly, Eliza, unmarried, Sarah married William Klopp, and Lousia maried Levi P. Dietrich of Garfield, Centre township. Benneville, father, was born in Bern township, Jan 24, 1831. Married Malinda Schaffer. d/o George and Malindia (Kissling) Schaffer. Children, Samuel H., George B., Sallie S., marred Daniel Lamm of West Penn. George B., was born in Bern township, April 24, 1864. He married June 18, 1886, to Clara R. Tobias, born June 26, 1867, d/o Jacob G. Tobias. Children; Stella, married Clayton Koller, Jennie married Wayne Bagenstose, Jacob married 2nd Mary R. Weisner, d/o John and Lucy (Frederick) Weisner, and widow of Nelson Thomas. Mosser Nicholas great-grandfather, was born in Cumru township, July 7, 1842, son of John (great-great grandfather. Nicholas, came from Germany. Moser-Berks County History There has been much confusion occasioned through two of the early settlers of this commumity bearing similar names, Burkhart Mosser Jr., and Burkhart Moser. In 1751 there emigrated one Hans Michael Moser, with his wife Catharine and 4 children,, settled in Amity township. They came over in the Duke of Wurtember. After locating in this country a 5th child was born to them. (1), George, born 1740, died 1806, and was buried at St. John's Centre Square, Montogmery Co. He married Margaret Leber, no children. (2) Peter, born 1742, died 1829 in Pottsville. He ws the father of 12, 5 boys and 7 girls, children, John, Peter, Henry, Jacob, George, Anna Maria married ___ Geiger, Catharine married __ Pyle, Hannah married __ Weidener, Margaret married __ Neidig, Eliza, married ___Yocum and moved to Ohio, Anna married __ Egolf, and Lydia married ___ Brunner. (3) Barbara, born 1745, died 1817, she married ___ Neuman, and settled in Pottstown. Her will was probated in 1818. Children; Mary, Peter, Philip, John. (4) Burkhard. (5) Christian, born 1755, died 1838, buried at St. John's Centre Square. His will was probated in 1839. Children; Mary married Jacob Hurst, and Elizabeth who married Benjamin Harry. The two son died young. Burkard Moser, born 1748, son of Hans Michael was 3 years old when his family came to America. At the time of the Rev., he and his younger brother enlisted. At the close of the War, Christian settled in Montogmery Co, near Whitepain. Burkard was somewhat eccentric, and it stated he settled near Tamaqua, Schuylkill Co. There is evidence to show he vistied his brothers on several occasions, and that Peter vistied him once. Burkhard Moser was a bachelor and died intestate. Mosser-Lehigh County History Burkard Mosser, Sr., came to this county about 1727. He owned land in Schuylkill County, then NorthamptonCo. Burkard Mosser, Sr., married ___ Oswald. He was one of the pioneers of Lynn township. He died in 1807, leaving a family of six children,Philip, Michael, Jacob, Burkard, Jr., Anna Maria who married John Oswald, Barbara, who married ___ Sitler. Burkhard Mosser, Jr., son of Burkhard Sr., had 10 children, Jacob, John, Mary wife of John Kerschner, Catharine, wife of Henry Frey, Mary M., wife of Nicholas Boyer, Elizabeth, wife of Philip Brobst, Barbara, wife of John Whetstone, Rebecca, wife of A. Rabinold, Michael, Polly, wife of George Longenberger. All these children were born in this country; and it is contended that the descendants of the various branches of this family erroneously clai to be the heirs of the bachelor, Burkard Mosser. The Mosser Family of Centre County, who now go by the name of Musser. Michael Mosser, son of Philip, also spelled the name Moser. The family Bible states, was, "ein son das Michel Mosser von Lecha County." The latter was a son of Burkard Mosser, Sr., and a brother to Philip and Burkard Jr. The second Michael Mosser, in the latter half of the 18 century, settled in Centre Co., he died in 1859. He was married twice, having by his 1st wife five children, George, Jonathan, Mrs. Betsy Kepler, Mrs. George Haring and Mrs. John Confer, who went with her husband to IL. George "Moser", was born July 7, 1804, he married a daughter of Philip and Elizabeth Moser. She was born in 1811, died 1846. They had 8 children . Best Wishes, Geri
