Walmer-Commemortive Biographical Encyclopedia of Dauphin County Walmer, Noah, subject, was born in East Hanover township, Dauphin Co., March 22, 1841, s/o John and Mary Albert, grandson of George Walmer, who was also born in Dauphin Co. He was reared on the farm and was a farmer by occupation. He was twice married and by his first wife had 9 children; Michael, William, John, Kate, the wife of Thomas Allen, Jacob, George, Maria the wife of George Daubert. The grandfather died in Sept of 1865, aged 75. By his 2nd wife he had 4 children; Lydia, the wife of ____Welmire, Adam, Cyrus, and Washington. John Walmer, father of Noah, was born in Lebanon Co., March 28, 1817. He married Mary Albert, born in E. Hanover township, Dauphin Co., March 30, 1815. John Walmer died Feb. 26, 1895, aged 78. He had 13 children; Margaret wife of John Martz, Noah A., Mary M., the wife of John Bomgarder, Louisa, the wife of Daniel Siegrist, Emma C., Elmira, the wife of Daniel R. Mills, Albert J., Zachariah Light, John G., Erwin J., Ida L., the wife of "Edwart " Rauch, Clara V., wife of Elmer E. Embach, Fidelia E., wife of George E. Gilbert, Sarah, the wife of Joseph Eustis. Noah A., married Oct 26, 1869, in Grantville, East Hanover,, to Emma E. Sherk, d/o Henry B., and Mary (Swoop) Sherk. Children; Howard C., Mary, Edith M., and Harry S. Mrs. Walmer was born April 24, 1895. Her parents were natives of Lebanon Co., they had 6 children; Anna, the wife of Dr. T.N. Beam, Mary the wife of Cyrus Stoner, Harry A., Lucy, the wife of Charles S. Wirt, William C. died in infancy. The grandparents of Mrs. Walmer were natives of Berks Co. Walmer, George W., was born in Lower Paxton township, Dauphin Co., Jan 17, 1826, s/o David and Barbara (Gaverich). Their children; Eva the wife of John Schaffer, George W., Margaret, the wife of William Calderdeck, John, Lydia, wife of Henry Forney, and one who died in infancy. George W., at age 15 went to Lebanon Co. He then moved to Ohio. He lived for a number of years in IN. He then moved to his native township. He married in E. Hanover, Oct 31, 1871 to Sarah, d/o Adam and Rebecca (Kittels) Gaverich. They had no children. Mrs. Walmer was born April 2, 1836 and died Oct 23, 1885.
