Northumberland County History Levi Barber, son of Anthony,born in 1833 son of David. Levi Barber, married Rachel Gold. Her grandfather was a native of Bushkill township, then Northampton Co., born about 1805, and in the spring of 1841 he came to Northumberland Co. Mr. Gold was a Moravian, but later became a Lutheran. His wife was Maria Rissmiller, the d/o Daniel Rissmiller, a Hessian soldier. David Gold and wife had children; Rosanna who married Charles Sensenbaugh, and they lived at Sunbury, Henry of Charlestown, George Thomas settled in McEwensville, Edwin, Joseph, died at Watsontown, Mary married Reuben Derr, Maria married Ellis Irwin, Charles was killed in the Civil war, Margaret, the wife of Lewis Painter, David died in New Britton, Susan who married Abram Redcy and they lived in Milton, John L., lived in New Castle. Edwin Gold, was born July 29, 1832 near Nazareth, then Northampton Co. He enlisted in the 11th PA Vols, Co B.. On July 4, 1861 he married Sarah Cooner, who died April 13, 1910. She was a Presbyterian, he was a Lutheran. Children; Davilla, unmarried, Ambrose, unmarried, Mary married Dr. E.J. Schlicher, and lived in Williamsport, Elizabeth, died as a baby, John C., who died in Ohio, and Susan who married Wilson Cotner. Henry D. Gold, another son of David, was born Feb 10, 1829 in Bushkill township. He married Eleanor Wilson, d/o William and Eleanor (Blaine) Horace Gold, son of Henry D., was born April 9, 1864 in Muncy Creek township, Lycoming. On Dec 25, 1890 he married Julia Ann Steiner, d/o William H., and Caroline (Deher) Steiner. Best Wishes, Geri
