For you records Marriage 2/24/183-, George Hinkle of Northampton to Luici Klingerman of Luzerne 9/14/1841 Daniel Wetzel to Phillippina (aka Phoebe) Meaze Death records Mrs. Phobe Wetzel, widow of Daniel Wetzel, died on Wed. night, 11/23/1889, at the residence of her son-in-law, William H. Romig, of Weatherly, Carbon County. She was just past 66 years of age. Children; Samuel, Charles, Daniel, Mrs. Amos (nee Susan Wetzel) Hinkle, Mrs. William H. Romig, and Mrs. Peter Wisler. (surviving children) History of Lehigh and Carbon Counties (combined) John Romig, M.D. was descended from a family of German origin which emigrated to America. John Adam, the grandfather of Dr. John was a resident of Lehigh County, where his son John was born,Dec 23, 1768 and died at Alllentown, July 28, 1850 and followed during his active life as a miller,he moved from Upper Saucon to Allentown. Member of the Reformed Church. He married Anna Koehler, of the same county, and had children, Joseph, Peter,who died in 1824, Dr. John, Charles, who died at age 16, Dr. William J., born about 1821, died 1883 and had sons (Albert and Alfred) Judith, died young Rebecca, who married William Craig, Mary A., who married Thomas Barber John, subject, was born Jan 3, 1804, (died Feb. 5, 1885, member of the Presbyterian church) in what is now known as Centre Valley, Lehigh County. He married, 1826 to Eliza Fogel, d/o Solomon Fogel of Fogelsville, who death occured in 1828/1829, when he married 2nd to Matilda Martin, of Allentown, d/o Dr. Charles H. Martin. Surviving children (of 19); Eliza R. who married Edmond J. Moore Esq.,(they had a daughter, Matilds R; Prof. John I.,Dr.George M.,Class of 1868, Hanna L. who married first to Cyrus B. May, died in 1876 (they had Edith R., born 1867, died in 1900) second,Joshua Hunt, Dr. William H., grad of U of Penn., born 1846, died 1884 , and in 1867 he married Mary L., d/o Jesse Line, Jesse L., married Thomas Foley, Christine ,Anna J., who married Joseph Hunt, and Matildia. The death of Mrs. Roming was Oct. 2, 1883. William J. Romig, M.D., brother of Dr. John, was born June 18, 1821. He was twice married, his first wife, Mary Royer, of Allentown, they had 4 children. Second to L. Anna Matthews of Phila on Jan 2, 1855. Dr. Charles Huber Martin, son of Dr. Christian Frederick and Mary (Miller) Martin, was born Dec 27, 1781. He married Christina Huber, their children; Rebecca who married Dr. John Mickley, of Milton, Matilada who married Dr. John Romig, of Allentown, and Dr. Charles Ludwig. Andreas Volk now Falk, son of Andreas and Catharine Merkel, was born in NY, May 12, 1721, he married Sept 11, 1741 to Maria Margaret Romig, d/o John Adam Romig. She was born in Ittlingen, Dec 8, 1722. In 1762 they moved from Lynn township to Schoeneck, and in 1763 they moved to Quittopechilla.
