Frederich Gerhard, great-great-grandfather was a native of Germany. He settled in Heidelberg township (came before the Rev.) II. Frederich, Jr. III. Jacob, was born Jan 1, 1814, he married Sarah Rieser IV. Dr. Frank R. married Lillie Paris Grove V. James R. ,married Ada Florence Grant I. Benjamin Gerhart, grandfather, II. John Peter, of Lower Heidelberg, married Caroline Werner, d/o William and Elizabeth (Lamm) IV. Peter William, born April 18, 1862, married Ida Wenrich I. Christian Gerhardt, Burgomaster of Grafenhaininchen, Saxony, Germany, died July 11, 1637. His wife was Anna Dobler, d/o Gallus Dobler, Court Chaplin at Dresden. II. Paul Gerhardt, was born March 12, 1607. on Feb. 11, 1655 he married Anna Maria Berthold, d/o Andrew III. Paul Frederich, born Aug 2, 1662 IV. Christoper, died Aug 15, 1736 V. William (no info) VI. Frederick, son of William, was born March 26, 1714 in Langensebold, Dukedom of Isenberg, Germany. On Jan 22, 1737 he married Elizabeth Fisher, d/o Henry. They emigrated to America in 1739 (ship, Samuel) VII. Jacob, son of Frederick, by his second marriage, was Jan 1, 1752. He married Elizabeth Potteiger, born May 7, 1752, d/o Martin and Susanna. VIII Frederick, second son of Jacob, was born April 13, 1781. He married Elizabeth Kalbach, born Sept. 17, 1786 IX. Isaac. born 28 Nov 1808, married Elizabeth Kurr X. Erasmus, born June 25, 1842, he married Agnes Weber. XI. Howard Erasmus, born Jan 18, 1879, married in 1901 to Rebecca Rosella (Seyfert) who was born July 5, 1885, d/o Charles Robert, and Amelia Catharine (Frentzel) Rebecca Rosella, is descended through her father from John Schwank, Mayor of the City of Fulda, Germany, in 1732, who was born at Neisse in Schlesien, Germany, and whose son, George C., also became Mayor of Fulda John C. Schwank, great-grandfather of Mrs. Gerhard, was born in Heinfelt, Germany, 1796, and died 1864. He married Elizabeth Schall, also a native of Heinfeld, and their daughter, Catharine Schwank married Robert Charles Seyfert, Bandmaster of the Regt. Band in the German army from the Dukedom of Waldeck, at the Siege of Paris, and later the Bandmaster at Castle at Arolson, the captial of the Dukedom of Waldeck. Charles Robert Seyfret, son of Robert Charles, and father of Mrs. Gerhard, was born Oct 19, 1854 and he married Amelia Catharine Frentzel, born Jan 4, 1860, d/o Frederick William Frentzel and his wife, Margaret (Snyder). Frederick William Frentzel, was born Dec 24, 1804 at Spielberg, Kreis Hannau, Court Vagtersbag in Kurhessen, Germany and died in 1881. Mrs. Margaret (Snyder) Frentzel, was born Feb. 14, 1830, d/o Philip Snyder (born March, 1802), and emigrated from the Kingdom of Bavaria, Germany, and his wife Mary Anna Diller, granddaughter of Adam Snyder and his wife Anna Kline.
