    3. Monroe County History I. Philip Gerhart, grandfather, was born in 1802, his later years being spent near Brodheadsville, he was a Baptist. His wife, Sarah White, was born in 1819 in Stroudsburg, she died in 1880. Children; Mary Ann, who married Henry Siglin of Brodheadsville, Edward of Effort, Samuel, and Ellen the wife Martin Kinspaugh. II. Samuel Gerhart, father, was born Oct 22, 1836. In 1857 he married Elizabeth Wiess, who was born in Monroe County. Children; Cicero, Anna who married Samuel Felker, of Effort, Theordore of Gilbert, Ulysses of Effort, John, Thomas, Lucy who married Edward Bruch and Philip who died as a baby. III. Cicero, was born Aprill 18, 1858. In 1884 he married Alice House, who died in 1886, leaving no children. In 1887 he married Blanche Greenwald, d/o A. O. Greenwald. Children; Olive May, A. Burials of Northampton The old Mennonite graveyard at Siegfried's Gerhard, Mathias, born 2 Nov 1760, died 12 Dec 1834, wife Veronice nee Latschar, born 15 Feb. 1771 and died 11 Aug 1824 At Nazareth Giersch, Christina, born 23 June 1724, died 5 June 1797; Children, Elizabeth, Christina, Rosina, Joseph, his wife Elizabeth, nee Gerhard, born 1741 and died in 1817 Mohr Family-Lehigh County History Wilson K. Mohr, attorney of Allentown, was born 19 Aug., 1863. No wife or children, memtioned. Henry W. Mohr, father of Wilson K., was Chairman of the Board of City Assessors of Allentown, he was born March 26, 1843. His father Daniel B.,(died aged 86) and grandfather, Chistoper,(died age 81) were also natives of Lehigh County, where settlement was made by the great-grandfather, who came from England. Our subject's mother was Maria, d/o Philip Haas, both natives of Lehigh County where she died at age 67 in 1860. The Haas family originated in Germany, the great-grandfather emigrated to America and settlled in PA. In 1862 Henry W. Mohr married Ellen E. Stahr, whose ancestors were among the early settlers of Lehigh County. Children; Wilson K and a daughter who died young. Raub, Jacob, the first Democratic Mayor ever elected in Easton. John Raub, the father of Jacob, was born in Forks twp., Northampton. He was a soldier in the War of 1812. He was twice married, having 5 children by his first wife _____, children; Daniel, William, John, Sarah, and Mary. To his 2nd wife, Sarah Everhart, he had children; Peter, Amanda, who married ___Kuntzler, Emma who married __ Franzer, and Jacob. John Raub died in 1860 Jacob Raub, married in July, 1876 to Aravesta A. Arner. Children; Arthur L., Howard, Reuben, Sarah, Gertrude and Edith. Members of the Reformed Church. Raub, Francis, Superintendent of the city schools of Allentown, was born in Northampton County, Sept 10, 1850. His parents, Samuel and Mary (Demmick) Raub,, natives respctively of Northampton County and Bucks County. Mrs Mary Raub was the d/o David and Anna (Huber) Dimmick, natives of Bucks Co. Francis, subject, is one of 3 sons and 2 daughters born to his parents, the others being Martin L., Anna the wife of Charles Walters, of Northampton, Saille the wife of Jacob Hoffman, of Northampton Co. On June 27, 1876 Francis married Susan Heil, d/o Samuel and Catherine (Odenwelder) Heil. Mr. and Mrs. Raub had one child, Samuel H. Gerhard, Dauphin County Jerome Z. Gerhard, M.D. son of William T., and Elizabeth (Seibert) Gerhard, was born Nov 6. 1842 in Cherryville, Northampton County. In 1881 he married Mary Hill, d/o George Hill. Children, Elizabeth and Alice. The Doctor was a member of the German Reformed Church. Gerhard-Lancaster County History Ancestry that came back to this county in 1737, and they date back a good deal more. The Gerhard are descendant of Paul Gerhardt, the great German Poet, who lived two hundred and fifty years ago. The first Gerhardt (as the named was spelled) of the family we have any record was Christian Gerhardt, who was Burgomaster of Gruesenhaerchen, Germany in 1637. He had 5 children one of whom was the poet Paul. The poet had one son, Frederick, and his son was Christoper, Christoper's son was William and his son was Frederick who was born March 26, 1714 in Langenselbold, a town in the Wittrau, Hessel Cassel. Frederick's parents were members of the Reformed Church. On Jan. 22, 1737 Frederick Gerhardt married Elizabeth Fischer, and soon after coming to America, settling in Phila., where a son Peter was born Oct 28, 1737, and not long after his wife died, Frederick then moved to his vincinity of Heidelberg, where on Feb. 14, 1740 he married a widow whose maiden name was Barbara Reiger. Children; Frederick, born 1744 and his son Frederick was born in 1770. Rev. William T. Gerhard, Rev. D.W. Gerhard's father was born Dec 10, 1809 and died Aug 29,1886, having been for many years among the clergy of Lancaster Co. He married Elizabeth Seibert, a d/o Jacob of Lancaster Co..Children; Rev.
