    3. Joseph Boyd, subject. I. John Boyd, great-grandfather was an American patriot who was killed while serving in the American Navy under Commodore Decatur during the bombardment of Tripoli, in 1804. II. James Boyd, son of John, was born in 1795 at Phila., and was bound out in tender boyhood years, to the Dunffield Family. He accompanied them to Damascus township, Wayne County, He died in 1842 at age 47, leaving a widow, Nancy, d/o David Canfield, of Litchfield, CT and a family of children. His wife Nancy died in 1848. 4 children survived them, Joseph, a resident of Warren County, Caroline, who married William Eighmy of Damascus, David, of Warren County and Thomas Y. III. Thomas Y. father of Joseph, was born Jan 19, 1823. He married March, 1849 to Elizabeth Jane, d/o Isaac and Ursula Mitchell, of Damascus township, and formely of CT. They had a family of 12 children, five of whom yet survive, Joseph, subject, Elizabeth D, wife of C. E. Clark, of Boyds Mills, Charles, of Boyds Mills, Rene, the wife of P. Noble, of Boyds Mills, and Thomas Y. IV. Joseph, born April 23, 1860, he married in 1883 to Lydia Wall, who was born in 1863, and they 2 children; Laura Y and Rush. Best Wishes, Geri
