Edmunds, Franklin Davenport, subject I Robert Edmunds, is believed to have arrived at Lynn, MA, he presumbaly journeyed by way of Long Island to the lower end of New Jersey (Cape May). He married Elizabeth Downs of Cape May II Downs Edmunds, their son was born 1736, died 1804. He married Experience Hand (1st wife) III Robert Edmunds, born Oct 2, 1760, Rev War and War of 1812, married Thankful Bancroft, Feb 27, 1781 IV Richard, their son, born Dec 22, 1785, a merchant and vessel owner of Fishing Creek, NJ. Married Dec 31, 1812, Lydia Hughes, d/o of the Hon. Thomas H. Hughes, NJ Congressman, and a descendant, through the Hughes-Whildin line, of John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley, his wife, who came to America in 1620, abroad the "Mayflower". V. Franklin Davenport, the son, also a vessel owner. Married Anna Marshall Stanger. VI. Henry Reeves Edmunds, married Anna Hunter Welsh Franklin Davenport Edmunds, was born Oct 10, 1874, in Phila. Religious affliation was, first of all, with Trinity Protestant Episcopal Church, at Southwark, Phila. On April 21, 1909 he joined the Hicksite Branch of the Society of Friends. Race Street Meeting, in Phila. He married June 26, 1909 at Friends Meeting House, 35th Street and Lancaster Ave., Phila. to Sue Price Paxton, eldest child of John Barton and Anne Jones (Price) Paxton, both of whom are descendant of James and Jane Paxton, original settlers in Bucks Co in 1682, and Nicholas Walm, who came to PA with William Penn on the "Welcome"/ Her father J. Barton Paxton, founder of Paxton and O'Neill. Among Mrs. Edmund's maternal forebearers was Philip Price, and early settler in the "Welsh Tract". in Chester County.
