I am looking for the parents, and or the syblings of George Kohler b. 3/6/1732 d. 5/24/1799. He was married to Mary Elizabeth nee Kohler, b. 5/17/1733 d. 7/25/1825 d/o Jacob Kohler. They had no children but adopted George Smull, who was supposed to be a nephew. George Kohler was a prominent blacksmith and in his will, he left everything to his wife's sisters and HIS sisters and also George Smull and George Frantz, s/o Jacob Frantz. Mary Elizabeth had a number of sisters and I have their spouses but these do not prove a relationship with the Frantzes. I was wondering if George Kohler might have a relationship with Margaret Frantz, whose surname is one of the things that seems to remain a mystery through the ages. George Kohler was a sponsor for the baptizm for George Frantz son of Jacob. Does anyone have any ideas on why he would mention George Frantz in his will except for this? Could Margaret Frantz be a Kohler???? or the daughter of one of George Kohler's sisters, whoever they were? So far I have _______m._Smull, and Hannah m. Mack. Any help will be greatly appreciated. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:3230626&id=I1045 This appears to fit the data in the subject message;. however, according to the GEDCOM, George and Mary Elizabeth were siblings, making their marriage highly suspect. George's wife is identified only as Maria; Mary Elizabeth's husband is mentioned only by inference; i.e. "This couple had no issue". This fits the assertion in the subject letter. I had long concluded that Jacob Frantz's wife, Margaret, was a Kohler; but I found no evidence to corroborate my conclusion. Unfortunarely, the GEDCOM is also clueless regarding Margaret's marital status.
