lehigh co. history knecht family ancestor johann jacob knecht, a native of the german palatinate or the pfaltz am rhine. he emigrated on the ship allen, sept 15, 1729. he located at what is now durham, bucks co and moved to nazareth, northampton co. he is buried at dryland ch. children; leonard, 1737-1789, ulrich 1738-1818, george and peter. all srv in the rev. ulrich was married twice. his 1st wf was maria catharine schlauch, who was born feb. 13, 1741, died july 27, 1781. children; margurite frankenfield, born june 3, 1759,, died sept 2, 1840, elizabeth willauer, catharine stocker, john, jonas, philip born june 6, 1768, died july 9, 1850, george 1774-1854, susan root he married 2nd to eva lennaschmidt and they had rosina kindt and abraham, 1793-1800 all are buried at dryland excepting elizabeth and catharine, who are buried at forks. george knecht, s/o ulrich was born aug 11, 1774 and died march 3, 1843. he married sarah willauer, who was born sept 21, 1784, died oct. 6, 1877. children, simon, 1805-1870, george, 1809-1892, solomon 1811-1889, charles 1814-1877, david 1817-1883, sarah 1820-1890, hiram 1822-1896. goorge knecht, s/o george and sarah (willauer), he married philipina uhler, who was born dec 24, 1814 and died jan. 9, 1889, of dryland, d/o valentine uhler of forks. children, josiah 1834-1910, peter 1836-1913, stephen 1838-1911, edwin 1839, george v. 1841-1902, lewis f., james m. , elizabeth, lucy, charles t., sarah, 1855-1889 peter knecht, s/o george and philipina (ulher) was born in northampton, june 18, 1836, died may 16, 1913. he married feb. 9, 1867, to flora jane wotring, who was born nov 12, 1843, d/o michael and esther (haussman) wotring, of north whitehall. children; mary a., edwin f., william p., emma w., john t., d. george, addison h., mark n., ellen j., herbert l. and an infant on 1887-1887 laubach, jo9hn, s/o adam was married to anna walter. members of dryland. children; adam, john, married matilda johson, barnett, married matilda wagner, william married sarah knecht, robert, diana elizabeth married 1st amandus hellick, 2nd amandua buss, richard married matilda fenner, reuben married sarah a.e.r. kohler and mary catharine rohn. adam laubach married mareitta haupt, d/o gideon and elizabeth (uhler) haupt of bushkill twp. she was born oct. 15, 1832 and died oct. 31, 1899. members of dryland ref. children, john richard and robert adam Best Wishes, Geri
