    3. mc kinney, samuel h., chief burgess of sunbury, he is a native of herndon, northumberland co. born feb. 20, 1868 the mc kinney family is of scot-irish orgin. david mc kinney, great-great-grandfather of samuel h., lived in n.j. and va. before he came to sunbury in the spring of 1772. he had a family of 9 children, abraham, mary, john, isaac, sarah, jacob, james, elizabeth, and rachel. isaac moved to center co., he became an associate judge. abraham mc kinney, s/o david was born nov. 12, 1762 and came to northumberland co., from n.j.. he died at sunbury sept 13, 1835. children; jacob, john, james, of whom jacob srv. as sheriff of northumberland co (1830-33) he moved west, where he died. james mc kinney, s/o abraham was born 1805 at mahanoy, northumberland co. he moved to schuylkill co. he died at cressona, aged 77y. he married lydia sheriff, a native of northumberland co. children; hiram, died young, abraham died young, abigail, died young, david died at cressona, lovina married michael thomas, sarah j., w/o __ lynch, and samuel. samuel, father of samuel h., was born may 2, 1826, he married mary a. ziegler, d/o andrew and catharine (wise) ziegler. children; james monroe married hettie heim, their children (archie, erma, charles, guy, samuel, daniel, and wilber), andrew j., married CATHARINE RUTH, (children; ethel, dorothy, gerald and harold), samuel h., sarah died young, catharine died age 23. rev. war-pensions mc kinney andrew, cont. line and pa. line, soldier enlisted at carisle, pa. applied 1818 in schenectady, n.y. soldier had a wf. mary and children; james, andrew daniel, n. j. born in huntington co., n.j. 25 march 1764 john, pa. line, soldier enlisted in phila. pa., applied 1819 in bucks co., pa. in 1820 soldier was aged 71 o 72 and had children of age and stated his wf. had been dead a long time peter, pa. line robert or as robert mc kinley, pa. line schuylkil co. evans, charles w. (m.d.) of tremont, s/o abramb. and elizabeeth ). mc kinney) evans, was born sept. 15. 1859. abram b. evans was born at millersville, in 1834, he married elizabeth mc kinney, d/o philip mc kinney, to whom 2 sons and 2 daughters have been born; emma w/o isaac cook of kansas, sybilla j. married dr. s. s. koser of williamsport, charles w. and milton h. of phila., pa. dr. evams marroed oct. 8, 1889 to sue c. cockill, d/o ezra and mary cockill, of middlestown, ky.
