Berks County History Dr. Elias Carey Kitchen, subject, of Amity township, was born in Bucks County (Solesbury) Nov 27, 1827, s/o William and Ellenor Cary and grandson of William Kitchen, and died at his home in Brumfield, March 13, 1909. William Kitchen, grandfather, was a farmer in Bucks County. He was a Quaker. He married Anna Paxson, member of the Quakers. William Kitchen, was born in Solesbury, Feb. 12, 1789 and died Oct 16, 1873. He was buried at Solesbury Quaker meeting. In 1812 he married Ellenor Carey (1794-1877) d/o Elias and Hannah Carey, and 8 children were born to them, John, Anna, Thomas, William (all of Bucks county, Dr. Elias C., (Northampton Co) and Samuel Elias C. , married (1865) to Mary Filbert, d/o Samuel and Charlotte (Kline) Filbert. Children, William and Charlotte. Bucks County History Kitchen, Charles, T, of New Hope, was born at Center Hill, Solesbury township, Dec 26, 1846, s/o William B.and Mary A. (Alford). His grandfather was Phineas Kitchen of Northern Liberties, PA., he was a teacher. His children; Emma, Anna,Susan, Jennie, Bertha, William, Charles T. and Addison. Charles T. married in 1873 to, Isabella, d/o Edward and Catharine (Conover) Pickett of New Hope. Children; Elmer, Addison,Burleigh, Augustus, Eva and Jesse Marriages- Bucks Co. Kitchen Hannah to Oliver Hampton, 11/11/1795 Margaret to John Kinsey 5/21/1777 Rebekah to Joseph Eastburn,, 9/10/1777 Sarah to Joseph Duerr, 10/15/1800 Whitehead Family The first ancestor of the Whitehead family came from England, settled at Jamaica Plains, Long Island. Thomas Willet Whitehead, a son of the early settler, married Maria Elaway, of Phila. They were members of the 3rd Baptist Church of Phila. They had 8 children; (4 still living in 1887) Mary who married Mortimer R. George of Phila., John Gaskill Lawrence Whitehead, MD of Bordentown, NJ. Annie married David E. Gardener, MD., of Phila., Elizabeth married Joseph S. Rotzell, MD, New Britian, Bucks County, William Manlove, was born in Phila, Dec 12, 1823.. William Manlove Whitehead, married in 1851 to Eleanor Jennings, d/o George and Catharine (MacGowan) Beaston, of Baltimore, MD. Children; Wiilar Beaston of Baltimre, William Manlove of the 23 ward of Phila., Mary, of New Britton, Elaway of Phila.Annie of New Britton, Henry Kauffman of Phila. Best Wishes, Geri
