Everett family, whose progenitor came from England in 1634, and came to PA in 1749. In 1751 we find his Thomas on a petition. In 1756 one of the forst erected on the frontier for the protection of the setters was called Fort Everett. John Everett, born 1701, is said to have a number of children, among whom is 4 sons and 3 daughter. Thomas, Samuel, John, Philip, Mrs. Brobst, Mrs.. Daniel Wannamacher, and Mrs. Rev. John Roth John Everett Jr., is buried in the corner of a field near Fort Everett. Thomas Everett, a descendant, keeps the grave in good condition. He was married to Mary Miller (1766-1836) and their children were; James and John, both of whomin Catawissa Valley; Jacob, DAniel, and Stephen went to Ohio; Samuel married James Price, Molly, married Jacob Oswald, Elizabeth married Samuel Sittler and Rebecca, married James Henritzy. It is supposed that the above name John Everet had two brothers, Thomas and Joseph, and that their father, John Everett, of Dedham, Mass. Samuel Everett, was a justice in Allemangel in 1769. Philip Everett had 3 sons, Michael Heinrich, John and Tobias. Michael Heinrich Everett is said to have 3 sons, John, Tobias, and Heinrich.. Tobias, son of Heinrch lived in Trippoli. His wife Ester Herber, were born two sons and two daughters. John Everett, lived on a farm in Lynn township. He and his wife Barbara, a s/o Peter Fry, were buried in the Weisenberg cemetery. Children; Polly who married Joseph Reinsmith, Levi, married Helen Butz, Nathan, Sallie, married Christian Snyder, John and Moses died unmarried, Lydia married William Moyer, and David, married Adalime Wert. Samuel, son of John and Mary (Miller) Everett was a farmer in Lynn township, he married Lydia Schwab. Children; David, Samuel, Edward, and Lydia the wife of Owen Krum. Jacob Everett, son of John, lived near Fort Everett. To him and his wife Susanna Schwab were born 10 children; Charles, born 1811, Martha who married David Horn, Mary, married David Kern, William, married Hannah Krum, Samuel, who married Sarah Lutz, Thomas, married Lydia Kressler, Susanna, married William Long, Daniel, married Katie Weaver, Amanda who married Isaac Oswald. He married Cathaine Lorsch, who was born in Northampton County, d/o John and Soloma (Seem) Lorsch, lifelong residents of Northampton County. The mother died leaving two children, Catharine who married John Everitt, and Susan who married John Aish. Children of John and Catharine Everitt; Lavina, who married Robert Newell, Eliza, who married Isaac Lewis, Joel, Civil war vet, died unmarried, Sarah, who married Joseph Hessler, Lafayett, who married Mary J. "Dersheimer", Julia N., married Linford Everitt of Chestnut Hill, James, Cathaine, thw wife of Nathan Hawk, of Allentown, Edwin, married 1st to Martha Stubbs, 2nd Sophie Rode, Lucinda E., died young. John Everitt, the father died in Jan 1866 aged 69 years, 11 months. His widow died July 12, 1878. Salem Church. James Everitt, was born Nov 25, 1836, He married Emaline Hufmacher, and they had 7 children; Franklin who married Addie Weiss, Oscar, unmarried, J. Wilson, who married Catharine Solomon, Ulysses who married Ella Felker, Emalinda, the wife of Willard Davison, of Luzerne County, Augustus and Josep. Mrs. Emaline Everitt died in 1876 and is buried at Salem cemetery James Everitt, married June 28, 1884 to Mrs. Mary A. (Van Buskirk) Christman, d/o Enoch and Julia (Altmose) Van Buskirk of Ross township. She was the widow of Dawalt Christman. Her paternal grandfather, Jaocb Van Buskirk was a native of Holland, migrated as a young man to America, becoming a resident of Ross township. He married Hannah Hogland. The maternal grandparents of Mrs. Everitt were Adam and Catharine (Starner) Altemose, pioneers of Monroe County. The family of Enoch and Julia VanBuskirk consited of children; Charles who married Emma Gruver, Jacob, who married Amanda Ramel, Eliza, who married Paul Ramel, of Phila., Lizzie, who married a Mr. Finkley of MS., Ella, the wife of Barney Miller of Easton and Emma who married Urias Snyder, Enoch Van Buskirk died April 19, 1873 aged 62. His wife died Sept 11, 1868, aged 42. Mary A. VanBuskirk married 1st to Dawalt Christman, a son of John and Mary (Gower) Christman. Dewalt Christman died in Oct. 1881 aged 42. He is buried at St. Peter's Church. They had 3 children, Enoch, Charles, and Jacob W., who married Mary Williams. James and Mary A. Everitt had 3 children; A. Mabel, Raymond D., and Grace E. Monroe County-Shupp Nathan Shupp, father, was born 1816, was the son of George Shupp and Susanna (Hawk) . In 1841 he married Sally A. Dersheimer, born April 17, 1817, who was a daughter of George and Ann ("Seiglin) "Dersheimer" and his family consisted of George, John, Jacob, William, Joseph, Christina, who married William Everitt, Elizabeth, who married Adam Kresge and Sally, the mother of Frank A. Shupp. Rev. War Nathaniel Everett, wife Rebecca Dow, former widow, MA Line, soldier's son, Jesse "Everitt" of Hanover in Grafton County, NH applied 1853 age 57, he stated his parents lived in Dedham, MA when they were married.
