Lebanon Co. History Bordener The Bordener family is one of the old and prominent one of Lebanon Co. Daniel Bordener, great-great-grandfather, was born about 1750, and lived to about 90. He lived near Millersburg, Berks Co. Godfrey Bordener, grandfather, settled in Union Co., he married a Miss Gassert, who born him 6 children, Daniel, who married a Miss Tobias, John who married Miss Miller, Godfrey, Jacob unmarried, moved to CA in 1851, William who moved to Indiana, where he married a reared a family, Sara, who married Solomon Rhine and located in Dauphin Co., Capt. Daniel was born in 1807, E. Hanover township, where he remained till 1850, when he came to Union township. He married Anna Maria Tobias, born in Berks Co, 1808. Children; Daniel T.; John, born 1834, died in 1855; Katharine, born 1835, married Henry Gingrich, and had one child, Lizzie, who married Will S. Rise. Daniel T. was born May 27, 1831, in E. Hanover township. On June 14, 1857 married Sarah Weaver, born Aug 16, 1839 at Fredericksburg, Lebanon Co., d/o Jacob and Anna (Sherk) Weaver. Children; Lizzie, born 1858, married Rufus Good, and they had ( Sadie, Agnes, Annie, Jennie, Henry, William, ). Irwin, born 1859, of Chicago, Cora, born 1861, married Jacob M. Groh, and they had ( Maggie, John, Adam, Annie). Grant, born 1863, married Annie Sherk, and they had ( Annie, Daniel, Maggie, Samuel, Esther and Edith, twins). John Sherman, born 1864, married Ida Moore, who died leaving ( Ethel, Annie, and Dora) he married 2nd to Dora Estelle Carter. William, Annie and Maria died in infancy, Henry Dawson, born 1869, married Annie Overholtzer, and had (Esther), Sarah Agnes, born 1870, married Samuel Groh and they had ( Nancy, Daniel and Sarah). Daniel Webster, born 1872, Jane Catharine, born 1876, married George A. Speck, and they had (Ralph). Light, John Peter, who came from the Palatinate in Germany. Only the names of his sons are of record. John, Jacob, Martin and Henry. Following in the line of succession, Jacob's son John, became the father of John; Jacob; Joseph; Barbara, who married Jacob Light; Elizabeth; and Mary, married Casper Light. The children of the 2nd son, Jacob, were John; Phronicia, who married Felix Light; Felix; Sarah; Mary, who married Abraham "Shirk"; Barbara, who married E. K.
