Thanks for all of the replies to my query. I don't know much at all at this point, but I'm looking for the family of my Susan KELLAR, married (about 1852, not sure where) to John Coddington. They lived in Luzerne Co. from 1860 on. Susan died in 1916, and according to her death certificate, she was born in 1836 in Northampton Co., PA, and her father's name is Joseph. An online source says she was born near Easton, but I can't verify that. The only pre-1860 census record I have found with a family that matches the available information is a Joseph (born abt 1811) and Sarah (born abt 1815) Keller in Luzerne Co. in 1850 with children: Isabella, Susannah, Cinderella, George Washington, Zachary Taylor, Joseph A., Henry, Frank P., and Emma L, all born between about 1834-1860. Also, a Z.T. Keller later signs a burial permit for Joseph A. Kellar in the same Wilkes-Barre cemetery plot as Susan's husband John Coddington. Coincidence perhaps, but looks promising. Gordon
Looking for any clues on Joseph Keller and Sarah Whitman/Whiteman. Joseph born abt 1812 in Easton. Sarah born abt 1816 in Easton. The first direct record I have of them is in the 1840 Luzerne Co. census, already married, with two daughters [Isabella b. ~1834, and Susannah b. 11 Jul 1836], so I'm not sure when they moved from Northampton Co. to Luzerne Co. Thanks, Gordon
