    2. It is a common practice when responding to a message to include the text of the message to which one is responding. This links the response to the original message for those who receive the messages individually. in the List format. However, I do agree with you that we should be courteous and delete those portions of the original message that are not really needed .Included in the repeated text are the date and sender of the original message. Any one who wants to read the entire message can easily find it in their own mailbox, if it has not been deleted, or in the list archives. Genealogists are researchers. Everyone should learn how to search the archives of the Rootsweb mailing lists. For any one who wants to see an example of what I mean, just look below. I have left just about all of the original message because it was only a few lines. All the add-ons that are attached to every message were deleted. Thoughtfulness and courtesy is always appreciated by everyone.
