Brenda, F.Y.R. Lancaster County, George Winfield Reich, MD, was born in E. Donegal township, Jan 8, 1844 s/o Dr. George and Mary (Long) Reich. He married Ella C. Roth, d/o Jacob and Margaret (Messersmith) Roth. Children; Dr. George R., Albert M., Jay M., Margueritee and Mary Helen The maternal grandparents of Mrs. Dr. Reich, were John and Catharine Rother, the former of whom was a master cooper; her materna grandparents were Philip and Catharine (OBER) Messersmith, natives of Germany and early settlers of Lancaster. Her great-grandparents, Johan N. Messersmith, was born in Wurtemberg, Germany, Oct 26, 1719, came to America Oct 20, 1744, married Maria D. Reitzell, Sept 13, 1762, took part in the war of the Rev. Ober, Henry R., of Rapho township, was born Sept 13, 1844, s/o Christian and Barbara (Ruhl) Ober. Christian, father died in 1873, aged 66. His wife died April, 1883, aged 61. They are buried at Hernley's cemetery. They were members of theMennonite and United Brethern of Christ churches. Children; Harriet R., Michael R., of Penn township, Barbara, the wife of George Keener, Moses R., Anna R., the wife of Jacob Norhall, of Oklahoma, Henry R., Christian, Sarah R., Aaron, Martha R., who married 1st to Jacob Sahm, and 2nd to Joseph D. Brown and Mary R., wife of Abraham Heht. Christian Ober was the son of David Ober. On Oct 16, 1866, Henry R., married Mary Ann Metzler, of Lancaster. Children; Fannie, married Pharis Rohrer, and had 3 children; Agnes, married Alva Lehman of Lebanon county and they had 4 children; Philip of Lebanon county, married Ida Holdeman; Susanna M., the wife of Oliver Litch, of Rapho; Nathan M., married Anna Baker of Lebanon county and had one child; Anna M., unmarried. Mrs. Ober was born Nov. 24, 1844 in Rapho, d/o Henry and Ana (Hersey) Metzler of Lancaster county. The father died in 1889, aged 59, and is buried at Hernley Meeting House cemetery. Mrs. Metzler, the mother was born in 1824, she was living with her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Cup, at Centerville. Ober, Henry K., a school teacher, of Mastersonville, PA., was born in Rapho township, s/o Michael and Susan (Kulp) Ober. Michael Ober, was born in Rapho, March 27, 1836, s/o Christian and Barbara (Ruhl) Ober. He married twice. On May 11, 1858 he married Catharine Spigler, who was born in Catfish, Lancaster county, she is buried at Chickie's Meeting House. She was the d/o Samuel and Susan (Burdolf) Spigler who lived and died in Lancaster. His 2nd wife was Susan Kulp, who was born in Lancaster County, d/o Jacob and Mary (Baker) Kulp. Children; Henry K., and Alva W. Wolgemuth of Rapho. Henry K., married 25 May 1899 to Cora B. Hess,who was born Aug 6, 1876, d/o Henry L, and Anna (Brinzer) Hess. No children. Ober, Andrew Curtain, was born in Elizabethtown, Lancaster county,May 8, 1862, s/o Hon. Michael and Harriet (Weaver) Ober, of Conoy township. He married Sept 8, 1885 to Alice Miller and they had 2 children; Daniel M., and Anna. Mrs. Alice (Miller) Ober was born 1867 and died 1892, at the age of 25, she was the d/o Daniel and Anna (Hess) Miller, both of Lancaster. Best Wishes, Geri
