Mr. Hoel, married Phebe Leonard and had 7 children. Lewis, Charles, Seely died young, Daniel, of Mt. Pleasant, Betsy M., married William Adams and Phoebe, wife of Peter Pulis. Wayne Co.- Dillon The first man bearing this family name was Abraham Dillon, who was born in Bedminster, Bucks Co, July 11, 1770, moved to Wayne Co, in 1797. He married Ester Bascom, who was born April 18, 1780. Children, William, John K., Abraham, Hamilton, Hamel, Martha, married ___ Lloyd,Rebecca married ___ Baker and Electa, married __ Cole. He died Dec 8, 1850 and his wife, Nov 4, 1825 John Dillon, born Dec 23, 1800, on June 14, 1827, he married Laura Read, who was born Dec 23, 1806 in Delaware township, NY. Children; Chester H., married Deliliaha Hicks, Rebecca married Chester Rood, George R., Julia, married George McKune Haines, Benjamin Franklin, is descended from English ancestry. His earliest paternal ancestor to emigrate, settled in Salem. MA., in the 17century. About this time his 1st maternal ancestor, a sea-captian settled on Gardiner's Island, near NY. About 1735 several of the ancestors of these early families moved to Orange County, NY. Among these early settlers were the ancestors of B.F. Haines. His father, R.R. Hains, was a Quaker. He married in April, 1844 to Mary F. Goldsmith, of Coldenham, NY, he then moved to Maryland, (Montgomery County). Children, Susie A., and Benjamin Franklin.
