This is all I have now, Marshall Merwin, of Stroudsburg, was born Feb 6, 1852, in Tunkhannock township, Monroe Co. is of French descent in the paternal line, his great-grandfather, Jacob Merwin. Peter Merwin, grandather, of Tunkhannock township, Monroe Co, and he and his wife (Sarah Denton) had 10 children. George Merwin, father, was born Jan 16, 1816, he married Sallie Warner, who was born 1818, died 1895.Their son, Marshall Merwin, on June 5, 1877 married Sallie Bond, of Chestnut Hill and they had one son Robert R, born July 16, 1883 and an adopted son, George Merwin, born Oct 16, 1877. Members of the Reformed Church. Mrs. Merwin was born Jan 30, 1852, in Chestnut Hill. Her grandfather, John Bond, of Monroe Co., and her father, George Bond, was born there in 1812, he died in 1876, he married Elizabeth Kresge, they had 10 children; Hannah, who married 1st to ___ Singer, 2nd to William Keichler, of West Pitston, William, died at 21, Philip a Civil war vet and was killed, Angeline, wife of W.F.Born, Lucinda, died young, Sallie, Mrs. Merwin, Jerome, of NY, Finandus, of Chestnut Hill, Manda, wife of Layayette Hauck, and Emma, married Louis Wallace of Stroudsburg.
