    3. Berks Co. Riegel, J. Allen, was born in 1846 in Bernville, Berks Co, s/o William B. and Mary (Lengel) Riegel, grandson of Jacob and Christina (Bohn) Riegel. Jacob was a soldier in the War of 1812. William B. was born in W. Leesport, he married Mary Lengel, and they had one child, J. Allen, who in 1866 married Ann Fulmer, a native of Van Reed, Berks Co, and a foster daughter of Henry Z. and Mary Van Reed. Children; Harry, William B., of Phila, Charles of Phila, Allen of Reading,Mary E., and Rose E., a foster daughter. Members of the Reformed Church Dauphin County Andrew Reigle, owned a farm near the end of Short mountain. He was a soldier of the Rev.. He married in 1770 to Catharine Hoffman. Their oldest son, John Reigle was a JP. He married Susan Sheetz and they had; Simon of Harrisburg, and Obed J.,in Williamstown. Daniel, son of Andrew, married Catharine Harman. Their son Daniel was a county commission in 1852. Jacob, son of Andrew married Nancy Hartom. Andrew Jr. was a farmer and he served in the War of 1812, he married ___Stine. Elizabeth Reigle, daughter of Andrew Sr., married Daniel Shesly and they were the grandparents of Sheriff Sheesly of Harrisburg. Lebanon Co. Samuel Riegel,(Prof.) was born in the city of Lebanon in the old McConnell homestead, at 119 S. 9th St., Sept 4, 1845, s/o Abraham and Mary (McConnel) Riegel. On his paternal side he is in the 5th generation from Adam Riegel, who landed in America Aug 13, 1750, and through his paternal grandmother is in the 6th generation in descent from Johannes Light (originally Licht), the first setter of the Light family in Lebanon Co. Johannes Light immigrated to this country in 1719. Samuel Riegel's mother was a native of Palmyra, where her birth ocurred, June 17, 1823/ She was the d/o Jacob McConnel, born in Lebanon, Jan 17, 1790, and died Nov 24, 1868. Through her Prof. Riegel is a descendant of Casper Snavely, originally Schnebeli, who emigrated to America from Canton Zurich, Switzerland, in 1736. Thomas George, born at Prescott, Oct 22, 1846. The original American ancestor of the family was Peter Spangler, his great-great grandfather, who settled in Lebanon county, the later part of the 18th century. A son of the same name was followed by the grandfather George Spangler, of soldier of the War of 1812. George Spangler son of George and Catharine (Dinges) was born in S. Lebanon, Feb 28, 1819. He was a member of the United Brethern Church, he married Mary Maury, born Oct 15, 1821, d/o Jacob and Mary (Zortman). She died Sept 10, 1901. She was the mother of Frank, of Ohio, Elizabeth, wife of Isaac Strohm, of Lebanon, Thomas G., Emma married S.J.B. Spangler of N. Lebanon, George of Phila., Elmer, Jared and an unnamed infant. Thomas G., married Amanda Light, d/o Felix. Mrs. Spangler was a native of S. Lebanon, and she was born March 7, 1852. Children; Newton L. of Okla., Paul M., of Lebanon, Naomi M. Ira H., Howard G., Eva R., Warren W., Homer L., and George E. John K. Funck, was born in Lebanon, Sept 3, 1836. His great-grandfather, Martin Funck, settled in Lebanon (then part of Lancaster). He died Dec., 1796, leaving children, Martin Jr., Ann, married Henry Fox, Barbara, married Henry Neave, Mary, married George Gloninger, Magdalena, married Henry Light Jr., Christina, married Christian Oberholt and Elizabeth who marrid John Hauer. Martin Funck, Jr., grandfather of John K., was born Nov 29, 1766. On March 4, 1792 to Barbara Longnecker, and to them were born, Barbara, 1795, Martin, 1797, Elizabeth, 1799, Jacob 1801, Elizabeth2, 1802, John, born 1805, and Maria and Ann, twins, 1811 Jacob Funck, father of John K., was born April 16, 1801., died 1880. He was married (1st) March 3, 1825 to Salie Bowman. She died Jan., 1830 aged 29. Her children; Josiah, born Dec 1825 and died July 16, 1896. Levi, born Dec 1827, died 1838. Jacob married 2nd to Mary Krieder and she had children; Sarah, Nov 30, 1831, Jacob, Oct 14, 1834, John K., Sept 3, 1836, Mary, May 28, 1838, Barbara, March 28, 1840, Adam, April 29, 1843, and Lydia, April 27, 1847. On Sept 6, 1859, John K., married Catharine Jane Grittinger, members of the Zion Lutheran Church. Augustus Maulfair, of N. Annville was born, July 15, 1843, s/o Daniel and Sarah H. (Clark). He married Catharine Dohner, born 1846, d/o Bishop Jacob and Barbara (Brandt) Dohner, (he was a bishop of the Mennonite Church), he was born May 1, 1806, in Cornwall township. The mother was born Dec 5, 1807 and died Nov 9, 1893, a d/o Henry Brandt and Maria Kreider, d/o Henry Kreider. Joseph Dohner, the grandfather, was a native of Lebanon, who married Annie Kreider, sister of Jacob Kreider, who was grandfather of Andrew, David, and Joseph Kreider of Annville. Isaac Kalbach Urich, MD, of Annville, was born May 3, 1863 in Myerstown, PA a s/o Daniel and Mary (Kalbach). Dr. Urich married Elizabeth Krieder Mark, and they had 2 children, Harry Mark born 1891 and Mary Josephine, born 1896. Mrs. Urich was born April 4, 1869 in N. Annvill, d/o Henry and Mary (Kreider) Mark. Henry Mark, was born near Pahnyra, his wife was a d.o Joseph Kreider of Annvill, who lived near Campbelltown, and a cousin to Andrew Kreider. J. M. Stroham, MD, born at Mt. Etna, March 28, 1858, s/o Dr. Christian and Catharine (Krebs) Strohm. Abraham Strohm, grandfather of Dr. J. M. was born in Fredericksburg. He married and had one son, Christian B. Dr. J. M., married May 14, 1881 to Catharine Yingst, of Richland ; Children, Lloyd E., Charles L. Henry Yingst, grandfather to Mrs. Strohm was a farmer of Jackson township, married with 2 children, Ephraim, and Catharine who married Henry Spangler. Jacob H. Light,s/o Gideon and Nancy (Whitmyer) Light, was born in Lebanon, Sept 27, 1857. On Dec 18, 1880 he married Annie M. Yeagley, of Jonestown, she was born Dec 23, 1857, d/o Rudolph and Mary (Daub) Yeagley. To Mr. and Mrs. Yeagly were born also three other children; Sarah, wife of Samuel Miller, Adam, of Jonestown, and Elizabeth, wife of Nathaniel Witmeyer of Lebanon. Levi Bomberger, was born in S. Lebanon, June 3, 1855, a son of Joseph and Hannah (kreider) Bomberger. On Nov 26, 1881, Levi, married Cassie Kreider, d.o Henry W. and Susannah (Brubaker) Kreider, born in Heidelberg township, June 2, 1859 Rev. William Elias Stahler, born July 3, 1858 at Norristown, s/o William and Savilla (Eshbach) Stahler and a grandson of an old citzen of Lehigh Co. William, father of Rev. William, was born near Allentown, he married Savilla Eshbach, d/o Abram Eshbach of Boyerstown. Erb, Will H., was born in S. Londonderry township, Nov 27, 1865, s/o Isaac and Barbara (Burkhold) Erb. The father was born in Lancaster county, 1837 and his wife was born in Campbelltown, Lebanon county. They moved to Hockersvill, Dauphin county, in 1874. Children; John, Will H., Minnie, married David Kreider, Allan, married Mary Mark, Naomi married George Runkel, Lena, married Isaac Dontrich of Schuylikill, Robert of Phila., Annie married Harry Kreider of Palmyra, Violet, Ella, and Elmer.
