What is origin of Christopher? Was he the emigrant or was there an earlier WITMAN? In 1729 there was a Johannes WHITMAN who came to PA from Marientraut, Germany. I also found 2 ships 'Elizabeth' and 'Pink Mary' with WHITMAN/WHITEMAN families which came to PA in 1733 from Rotterdam.
