monroe co. mrs. margaret j. decker, wf of daniel s. decker., she was born dec. 25, 1843 near east stroudsburg, d/o george a. metzgar, a native of middle smithfield, born 1813. he died 1888 in stroudsburg at the home of his son, w.h. metzgar with whom both father and mother resided a number of years in their old age; they were membrs of m. e. church. the mother, whose maiden name was elanor winnan, was born and reared in middle smithfield, died 1892. mrs. decker is the eldest in a family of 9 children, 2. jonas, died in childhood, 3, mary a. married w. f. nyce, and died in 1884, she had 9 children (maggie, lizzie, and harry living, the rest died in childhood), 4. hannah m., wf of w.r. stright of phila., and had 2 children (george e. and mary a.), 5. franklin married elmira sebring of price twp and he had 8 children (ela j., w/o charles bender, maggie, edward, martha, charles, harry, earl, claude) 6. john j., born apil 1851 he married blanche bowman and had 4 children (lulu, stella, geor! ge and william), 7. lizzie married william h. burgss of pocono twp. and they had (laura, bertha, william), 8. william h. was born march 28, 1856 at stroudsburg, 9. george m. born march 8, 1858, resident of wilkes barre, he married mary e. crandell, of grover, bradford co.., and they had ( chester, archie, mary).
