Hi Geri - Do you have any data on Mathias Kolb (later Culp) - Philadelphia & Northampton Co., PA. Some of his descendants lived on Culp's Hill at Gettysburg where my great-great uncle Stephen Kenneth Gray was shot. However, I am more interested in his connection to my Schleich family in Heidelberg Twp.. My 4th gt.gd.fa., Mathias Schleich was named for him (I have the Heidelberg Union Church Records and the reference from Pastor Daniel Schumacher's personal records.) history of bucks co. doan, eleazer-forest grove, was born in upper makefield, jan. 14, 1816, s/o benjamin and sarah (kirk) doan. amos doan, grandfather, lived in upper makefield his whole life. benjamin doan, father. children; john k., eleazner, amos, mary w/o john cooper,esq., william k., sarah, w/o james vandergrift, benjamin c., stephen k., theodore, miranda, w/o john baker, and evalina, married kinzey harvey. both parents died and eleazer was raised by his uncle stephen kirk. stephen g. doan, mechanicsville, was born in upper makefield, feb. 20, 1820, s/o joseph and cynthis (tomlinson) doan. grandfather jesse doan of upper makefield howard s. doan, of edgewood, was born in lower makefield, may 15, 1843, s/o george and mary (vanartsadalen) doan. his paternal grandfather, thomas doan, a son of israel doan, born abt. 1730. the latter was a farmer of plumstead, and during the rev. had his cattle driven away by the british. he was the son of israel doan, born in 1699 a grandson of daniel doan who came from plymoth, ma. in 1696 and settled in middletown twp. thomas doan, a farmer of bucks co had children; eliza, w/o benjamin wolsey, rachel, w/o peter bailey, rebecca, w/o henry watson and george. in 1836 he married mary, d/o joseph and sarah vanarsdalen of langhorne, and they had children; sarah, w/o o.m. thorton, rachel, w/o george meyers, howard s., frank, and ella, w/o jaco heuscher, howard s. married jan 1, 1867 to mary, d/o charles and rachel (slack) young, of lower makefield. children, augustus c. and lillie m. john cooper, real estate agent and j.p. -pinesville, was born in phila. co. at holmesburg, july 1, 1823, s/o jacob and ann (johnson), the former a native of bucks co., and the latter of phila. co. the cooper family came from scotland. the grandfather, john cooper resided in northampton twp. john cooper married in 1848 to mary doan, d/o benjamin and sarah doan of upper makefield. they had one child, stephen k. who married nellie t., d/o c.b. and sallie m. twining. phila. co doan, daniel-city of phila. nov 29, 1760-dec 27, 1760 children, deborah, mary and thomas. exec. wife sarah wits; joseph doan, henry shade, john ross carter, william-phila, nov 6, 1738-march 27, 1738. wf and ex. mary. grandchild, edward otto byard. bro. edward carter. kinswomen, katharine, elizabeth and mary gregory, mary smith, w/o william. dau -in-law mary morris. sisters daus, sarah william, mary "done" wf of joseph done. kinsmen; robert carter, william carter, joseph grimes (mariner), joseph dorinton and john beal.
