haycock twp., bucks co. frankenfield family- adam frankenfield came to america from germany and settled in springfield twp. he had 8 sons, henry, e.s., who married catharine weaver, to whom were born 2 sons and 2 daus. henry came to haycock in 1808, purchased 65 acres. there were 4 children in this family. the e.s. henry married anna datesman, d/o jacob and elisabeth (shellenberger) datesman. they had 3 sons and 2 daus. his e.d. mary married abraham youngkin, s/o nicholas and mary youngkin of nockamixon twp. 1 son was born to this marriage, abraham f. abraham youngkin died in 1856. she married again to aaron ziegenfuss in 1861. 5 children were born of this marriage; ellmanda, anne, mahlon, henry and harvey. lehigh co. hawk family near kresgeville, monroe co., lived conrad hawk, a pioneer of this family. he died about the year 1860. margaret fisher, his wf. died after the civil war past 80 years of age. the parents of conrad hawk came from wurtemberg in germany and settled in monroe co. children of conrad and margart, joseph, lived at kunkeltown, john, lived at wilkes-barre, george of monroe co., conrad,who is feeble minded and michael. michael hawk, s/o conrad was born april 11, 1806. he lost his life in carbon co, while cutting down a tree on nov 15, 1850, age 44, he is buried at kresgeville. his wife catharine serfas is buried at union cem. at allentown. she was the d/o joseph serfass. he and the family were members of the evangelical ch. their children; samuel, nathan, matilda w/o w.h. diefenderfer, theresa, w/o david schoudt, jacob, linford, died at weissport, cecelia, widow of reuben schmale, lived at allentown, william of wilkes-barre, hannah married henry smith, mrs. james diehl, sara died single at allentown, edwin died a young man at weatherly, samuel hawk, oldest son of michael, was born in monroe co., july 16, 1829, he located at carbon co, he came to allentown in 1870 but in 1871 he moved to bucks co. he moved back to allentown in 1884. he died dec. 30, 1901 age 73. children; henry e. died at easton, freeman, josepyh h., cassilia married james e. hixson, pearson died a baby, and clinton. freeman hawk of allentown, was born at albrightsville, carbon co, feb 19, 1853 joseph h. hawk, 3rd son of samuel and elisabeth (serfass) hawk, was born oct 27,1856 at albrightsville, carbon co. joseph married 1888 to mary a. riegel, d/o thomas and sarah (lutz) riegel. children; elsie w/o fred horn, florence, myra, w/o morris kemmerer and warren l. mr. hawk and family are members of trinity u.e. church of allentown. allentown, pa. it was a tradition in the keiper family that the 1st of the name here was a settler of 1763; and doubtless the tradition is well founded, though the name does not appear in the assessment of 1764. john keiper, who came here in 1763, lived where franklin good now resides on 7th st. he died july 4, 1833, his sons were, john, peter, david, daniel and george. augustus, a son of john and catharine (keck) and annie seip, daus. of daniel, now reside in the city. sarah the oldest dau. of john keiper (first) married a massey. nancy w/o john wagner, soldier of the war of 1812, catharine married capt. john f. ruhe; and another dau. was the wife of john haines. henry keiper, a bro. of john (1st) was in the rev. army, fought at the battle of germantown, and after the war settled in allentown. he lived on walnut st near 6th. one of his daus., catharine married peter good, and was the mother of tilghman good; another, elisabeth married jacob hagenbuch. john, a son of henry keiper, is now r! epresented by a son, gabriel, who lived in allentown. getz, william of kidder twp, our subject is a native of pa. was born in monroe co. march 31, 1824, s/o conrad and margaret (weiss) getz, also native of that county. william, attended the public schools of monroe co. he married elizabeth, d/o joseph serfuss, now deceased. to them was born a family, of whom the following survive, emery, e.s., salome, wf of henry silfies, alice, wf of charles baumgardner, sabilla married harrison schmale, millard, ira, ulysses, william, clara, wf of john heimback, herbert and eddie.
