Mr. Gerhart, is of German extraction, the first of the American branch of the family to come from Germany and settled in Berks County about 1750. Henry Gerhart, son of the emigrant, is the first of whom we have and extended data. He settled on a farm in Bethel township. He married and had 6 children; Wendell, John, Jacob, George, William and Susanna who married John Walner. George Gerhart, was born in Bethel township in 1811.     3. Gearhart-Northumberland County. I. Capt. Jacob Gearhart, great-grandfather, was born in Strasburg, then France, now Germany, in 1735. He came to America in 1754, settling in Hunterdon County, NJ. He married in NJ to Katherine Kline. He enlisted in the Rev. war, becoming a Sgt. of the 2nd Regt. of Vols. of Hunterdon, soon promoted to ensign and then to Capt. In 1776, when Washington crossed the Delaware to attack the Hessian troups then emcamped at Treton, Capt. Gearhart was detailed with Capt. Van Tenye to take charge of the boats with orders to destroy them should the expedition prove a failure. Capt. Gearhart took part in the Battle of Brandywine. In 1790 Capt. Gearhart, with his wife and family, left the old homestead in Hunterdon, and journeyed by means of horses and wagons into central PA., encountering many hardships on the way. Upon reaching a point near a spring in what is now Gearhart Township, Northumberland county. His family consisted of 11 children; (1). Jacob, born 1763, died at age 78, married Margaret Runkill, and they had (John who was born 1789 and married Sophia Brown and they had; Jacob, 1818, Sarah, 1821, Margaret, 1823, and married I.H. John Gearhart, 5th son of Capt. Jacob, married Anna Cool of NJ and moved to PA., about 1790 with his parents to what is now Riverside. Walter, MD, born June 15, 1832 in Northampton County, s/o William and Mary (Bunstein) Walter, also natives of this county, while his grandfather came from England, and his mother's side is of German descent. She was still living at age 100 at Easton (1894). B.C. married Camillia, d/o Jacob Brunner, children; Robley, a physician of Easton; Laura, wife of Howard Knecht, Delia, the wife of Allen Woodring, of Bethlehem, William, a physician, Cora, Mitchell, a physician, Nettie, Jacob. Charles W. Walter, of Palmer township, Northampton, was born in NJ., July 19, 1848, being the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Wolverton) Walter, natives respectively of Williams Township, Northampton County and NJ. He moved with his parents in 1848 to NJ. Surviving children of Jacob and Elizabeth,Samuel, of Easton, Charles W., Edwin P., of NY., John T., of Northampton county, William H., of Easton, Jacob R., of Northampton county, Lizzie the wife of Rev, J.P. Uhler of St. Paul, Minn., Jennie W., who married M. W. Schneebeli of Easton Charles W., married in 1869 to Martha A. Hixon of VA, d/o Noah Hixson. Children; William A., Harry W., and Earl W. Burials Walter, Barnet, born 29 June 1768, died 29 Aug 1839, Mary his wife, died 19 July 1846 aged 76 Baernet, Henry, born 17 March 1734, died 19 Sept 1801 Barnet, John, son of Henry and Susanna, born July 17, 1760, died 7 July 1827 Herster, John, s/o Andrew, 1726-76 and Anna Maria (Mary) Marsteller, married Margaret Schnyder, their daughter Catharine married George Barnet. Rev. War Barnet George, PA line, S45243 BLW9004 issued 29 Aug 1793.     2. Based on family recollection, census records, the 1914 obit for Owen Milton, and several "tidbits" supplied by Cindy, Eileen & Penny; here are my "educated guesses" about Owen's sons. Additional, information, comments, etc., very apprecieated. Owen Milton Keim (3/7/1848 Bethlehem twnshp - 4/8/1914 Bethlehem) m. ~1873 Catherine Warner (12/1856 PA - 11/3/1933 Bethlehem?); had 16 children, 10 living in 1900. The sons were: 1. Preston C. 10/11/1876-5/27/1879, Penny reports the grave marker says "son of OM & CR Keim". 2. Harvey F. (aka Harry) b. 3/1879 d. aft 1914 m. 3/1900 (Penny found a notice in the Bethlehem Globe Times) Cora M. ? b. 6/1882 PA. 1900 census living at 13 Broad St., Bethlehem, working as a Teamster (horse drawn delivery), and they reported being married less than one year. 1910 They are still living in Bethlehem. 4/1914 Still living in Bethlehem. One known child, Frances K, b. 1903. 3.Walter C. Keim b. 1883 Bethlehem -d. aft 1914, m. ca.1906 to Minnie Fatzinger b.~1888 In 1890 Walther is age 6 yrs. In 1910 he is in Northampton Co. Miracode Index (have yet to do "look up"). 4/1914 in Bethlehem. Per the obit of their son Richard in 1989 (thanks again to Penny); Grace E. ~1907 Raymond 1908 Dorothy bfr 1910 Richard ~1923-5/31/1989 m. Bucher family-Lancaster County History Jacob Bucher, was a son of Dr. Benedict Bucher, who was born at Denver, Lancaster county, in Aug., 1759, and a grandson of Dr. Bens Bucher, a native of Switzerland, who settled at Denver in the early part of the 18th century. Dr. Benedict Bucher located at Cornwall. Children; John P., born in 1785 and settled in Lebanon county, Benedict, born April 1792, Christian, born 1796 of Lebanon Co., Henry, Susanna born 1802, died unmarried, Maria married Michael Snyder, Jacob. Jacob Bucher, born March 24, 1807, at Cornwall, was reared in Lebanon County. He died in 1847. He married Veronica Brubaker, who was born Jan 1812 and died Nov 1871. Children; Christian, bishop of the German Baptist Church and he had 7 children; Anna who married Henry Horst; Jacob; Susan who married William Gingrich of Lebanon; Veronica who married Jonas Royer of Lebanon, Elizabeth, who married John Kettering; George George Bucher, in 1866 married Anna Pfoutz, who died in 1881, and they had 7 children; Aston-Chester County George Aston, a JP of Caln township, on the western side of Dowington, and is said to have built what is known as the old Hunt manison, 1727-28. His wife, Elizabeth Hunter, d/o Peter, of Middletown. He died in 1738, leaving children; George, Peter, Mary who married Peter Few, Susanna, and probably Esther who married Roger Hunt. George Aston2, married Esther, d/o Owen Thomas of East Whiteland. He left one son, Owen Aston George Aston1, was styled a Quaker, but there is no evidence to that effect in the records of the society. His daughter Mary and son Peter became members. Babb-Chester County Thomas Babb, married Bathsheba Hussey, d/o John, near near New Castle, prior to 1700 and lived in Brandywine One Hundred. In 1713 his wife died leaving several children, and he married again 3-25-1720 to Elizabeth (Conway) Booth, a widow of Middletown. Thomas Babb Jr., married Sarah ____about 1729, and moved to VA. Peter son of Thomas settled in W. Caln about 1725, married 11-22-1728 to Mary Lewis, d/o of Evan and Ann. His sister Lydia married John Morgan of Caln, 10-17-1735. Peter Babb had several children, of whom Bathisheba married Jeremiah Piersol and Benjamin Trego; Elizabeth married a Bishop and a Samson married Ann Way, d/o John and Ann Way of Kenneth. Other children; John, Thomas, Content, Peter and Susanna. Samson Babb was disowned by Friends in 1767 for "keeping a fiddle and using a fiddle". Boyd-Chester County In the year 1732 came William Boyd and Thomas Boyd from the county of Armagh, in Ireland and with them two unmarried sisters, one of whom married a Mr. Dobbins and the other married a Mr. Curry. They also left one sister in Ireland, who with her husband emigrated to Phila. Thomas Boyd of the forks of Delware, but afterward moved to Phila.., where he died in 1782, leaving 4 sons and 1 daughter,- Major Alexander Boyd, the oldest son, James, Thomas, and Andrew, all officers of the Rev. army. Sometime after the war, James and Thomas settled in Kittanning. Of their families are known nothing. William Boyd settled near the Half-Way House, in Londongrove township, Chester County. He died in Oxford township, Chester County, April 17, 1767, aged 58, and his wife died 11 days after her husband. Both are buried at Fagg's Manor. William Boyd left 3 sons, James, John, and William, and 3 daughters, Jane, Mary, and Hannah William Boyd, youngest son of William, went into the marine service early in the Rev., soon made a Captian, and was taken prisoner and carried to England. He died the day after his delivery to Long Island. Jane his eldest daughter, married David Cochran, Mary, married George Boyd, brother to Matthew, Hannah married Matthew Boyd and they had (Jane, Rebecca, and John, of these, Jane never married, Rebecca married Rev. John Patterson, John unmarried) Mathew Boyd was killed by a fall from his horse, the widow married 2nd to Gen. William Montgomery. Best Wishes, Geri

For you records Marriage 2/24/183-, George Hinkle of Northampton to Luici Klingerman of Luzerne 9/14/1841 Daniel Wetzel to Phillippina (aka Phoebe) Meaze Death records Mrs. Phobe Wetzel, widow of Daniel Wetzel, died on Wed. night, 11/23/1889, at the residence of her son-in-law, William H. Romig, of Weatherly, Carbon County. She was just past 66 years of age. Children; Samuel, Charles, Daniel, Mrs. Amos (nee Susan Wetzel) Hinkle, Mrs. William H. Romig, and Mrs. Peter Wisler. (surviving children) History of Lehigh and Carbon Counties (combined) John Romig, M.D. was descended from a family of German origin which emigrated to America. John Adam, the grandfather of Dr. John was a resident of Lehigh County, where his son John was born,Dec 23, 1768 and died at Alllentown, July 28, 1850 and followed during his active life as a miller,he moved from Upper Saucon to Allentown. Member of the Reformed Church. Second to L. Anna Matthews of Phila on Jan 2, 1855. Dr. Charles Huber Martin, son of Dr. Christian Frederick and Mary (Miller) Martin, was born Dec 27, 1781. He married Christina Huber, their children; Rebecca who married Dr. John Mickley, of Milton, Matilada who married Dr. John Romig, of Allentown, and Dr. Charles Ludwig. Andreas Volk now Falk, son of Andreas and Catharine Merkel, was born in NY, May 12, 1721, he married Sept 11, 1741 to Maria Margaret Romig, d/o John Adam Romig. She was born in Ittlingen, Dec 8, 1722. In 1762 they moved from Lynn township to Schoeneck, and in 1763 they moved to Quittopechilla.
